Our stay at this so-called 4-star hotel was nothing short of a disaster. The hotel is located directly opposite a construction site where work begins at 6am, including weekends, and carries on late into the evening. The noise and dust are absolutely unbearable — it’s impossible to open a window without choking on concrete fumes or being deafened by drilling.

Our room reeked of burned plastic and sewage, likely from blocked drains, and the air conditioning unit pumped out hot air during a sweltering night. When I approached reception the next morning, I was told — rather dismissively — that the air conditioning doesn’t operate in winter. Winter? It was 23–27°C, halfway into spring. Apparently, climate doesn’t exist in this hotel’s logic.

We travelled with another couple who specifically requested a double bed and instead received two singles. Their room was smaller and even less bearable than ours. Ours was marginally better only because we had a proper double bed.

Every night, the corridors and rooms were engulfed in the overwhelming stench of curry from the neighbouring curry house — so strong it actually made us feel nauseous.

The staff were appalling — particularly the older man at reception, who made it very clear he had no interest in helping with anything at all. It honestly felt as though he had joined the local protests against tourism and accidentally ended up working in hospitality.

To be fair, the room was clean, and it’s about a 20-minute walk to the town centre, though the views are average at best. There’s a tiny plunge pool and a basic sunbathing area — nothing like the photos.

Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. Definitely not worth the price, and absolutely not a 4-star by any stretch of the imagination. Avoid...

Stayed in the suite, room 809, for the last week of Jan '25.||Luckily we got sun every day.|The view was fantastic. A 180⁰ view over the marina. We had 2 sun loungers, a padded outdoor bed and a coffee table with 3 chairs outside.||It was only a 15 minute walk into the centre but plenty of good bars and restaurants within 5 minutes.||The minibar (which is included in this room only I believe) had 6 little miniatures of alcohol (whiskey, bacardi and vodka) plus 2 beers, and numerous soft drinks and water. |The Nespresso machine was refilled every day with pods, sugar, cream.||The room was cleaned every day to a high standard. ||All staff were excellent, from the bar staff to the front desk staff and especially one particular cleaner who noticed what flavours of drinks we were mainly using (if management read this, she definitely cleaned on Tues 21st). Possibly more English language channels on the TV would be an improvement, but I could chromecast my phone to the TV, so not really a problem. |Midweek, the roof lights on the patio were not lit, but the hotel was fairly empty, so I can understand this. |There were standing outdoor lights on the patio that worked so, again, not an issue for us. ||Would we stay again? Definitely. |We've already got 2 sets of friends who are booking purely on our photos and recommendations. ||There may be comments on noise from road works opposite. The noise wasn't intrusive and at the rate it was being done, I wouldn't expect it to carry on for long. It definitely...

The fact that this hotel has 4 stars is shocking, we stayed here and were incredibly dissapointed. Rooms were fine, though expect no amenities. No shower caps and no conditioner. Balcony overlooks a big road that from about 9am starts being loud. We were initially excited about the pool and sauna. Tried to go to sauna, only to find it locked. Went to reception who told us you have to prebook it, so we prebooked it for the next day. We then call them to ask if possible to go to the sauna 15 mins early, and get told it’s tricky because it takes 45 mins to heat up. At this moment, we also get told the sauna is not free and costs 10€ per hour. The fee is not crazy, but the very fact there is a fee to use the sauna when it’s listed as an amenity? Not great. Hotel also offers no bathrobes or slippers, so not helpful when needing to take an elevator to the sauna. Also, it apparently fits 1-2 people max. Pool was cold, and not a very nice set up. Finally, they had no parking spots left the weekend we came despite saying they have free parking available. Turns out it is available, but not many spots and you can’t reserve them ahead of time so really a matter of luck if you get one or not. Rooms have absolutely no insulation - this is not a joke, but we heard our neighbours farting next door. For the price we paid, I think the value is awful. I’ve previously stayed at a hotel just a few metres down the same road called the Gran Melia and would recommend anyone considering this hotel to stay...

DON’T COME HERE IF YOU LIKE YOUR SLEEP! I wish I had listened to some of the other comments about the noise and I am a heavy sleeper! I have just been down to the reception at 1am due to the noise outside (loud music, noisy bikes and cars, shouting in the street and early morning roadworks) to be told we don’t turn the air con on until the summer, apparently, this is a rule that the owner has imposed. The current room temperature with the window open is 26c, the only choice, no sleep or sweat in our sleep. Frustratingly due to the noise caused by building work the previous day (5am they started) we had mentioned this to the morning staff that our air con wasn’t working as we wanted to turn it on to close the window, shutting out the noise. They said they would speak to an engineer…..but yet in the evening and early hours I am told by the staff that it is a policy that the owner of the building has stated, what is going on here?! Such confusing mixed messages. We came here for the convenience for our anniversary and we sure won’t be recommending this to anyone especially in off season (which should be promoted by a country that rely so heavily on tourism) We have had such a great time in the city it’s such a shame that the lack of sleep has to ruin the whole experience and for what? A rule that the owner of the hotel has, this hotel won’t last long with an attitude like that! Good luck staying here. Update, the bins get emptied during the night, I filmed this at 2AM!

From the moment I arrived until my departure, my stay at Hotel Costa Azul was nothing short of amazing. The service was what impressed me the most. Across the board, every employee we interacted with was courteous, professional, and extremely helpful. Whether it was the polite gentlemen checking us in and assisting us throughout our stay…the great service during breakfast…or housekeeping doing a great job keeping the rooms tidy…overall, the staff at this hotel are fantastic. Once checked in and in our room, we were greeted with a complimentary welcome drink voucher at their pool bar, located on the third floor. Additionally, waiting in our mini fridge was a welcome amenity with several complimentary cold cans of beverages. What a nice touch. Overall, I also love the attention to detail and cohesiveness in the design and branding of the hotel. Hotel Costa Azul feels refined yet relaxed. The location is perfect to explore Palma, but if you’d rather hang out on the premises, the views from the rooms or the pool area are absolutely superb. This is easily one of my favorite hotel’s. They’ve made such a lasting impression that I plan to come back every year!
