Restaurante Bar Playa — Restaurant in Santa Margalida

Avoid this place at all costs. The so-called waiter, a British guy, literally threw the menus onto our table as if we were an inconvenience. When we complained, another staff member admitted straight away that this guy is always a problem and said he had just woken up from a nap and was moody. That alone tells you everything about the standards here.

When asked to apologise, instead of owning up, he stormed over, denied slamming the menus, and then told us, “we don’t need customers like you here” before kicking us out. This is the level of hospitality you get.

As two women, we were left extremely shaken and put in a very uncomfortable position. I even had an anxiety attack after leaving the restaurant because of how aggressive and hostile the situation was.

We later found out this man is notorious in the area for being drunk, rude, and aggressive with both staff and customers. Honestly, it was the most hostile and unprofessional dining experience we have ever had. There are plenty of great restaurants in Mallorca. Do not waste your time or money on this...

This is the best restaurant I've ever had. the best service. I was in Palma for 5 days and on the last evening I happened to visit this restaurant. the price is average. food portions are huge and delicious. I didn't have time to light a cigarette when they brought me an ashtray. they were very friendly and kind, a mistake was made, I ordered a non-alcoholic cocktail and they brought me an alcoholic one. after that they apologized, replaced everything, and removed this cocktail from my account. later it became cold, the waiter came to us and offered to change the table since we were sitting on the seashore. after that, they brought us warming blankets, lit a fire near us, and brought 3 warming cocktails at the institution's expense. at the end of the evening, the manager of the facility approached us with a synoptic map and showed that a downpour with a thunderstorm was coming in 7 minutes. we managed to settle the bill and ran home. and after that the terrible weather started. this is the best restaurant I've ever had, I want to...

Sorry but we didn't like it here. Felt cajoled to sit and order drinks before getting to look at the menu properly which then seemed limited. Most things were with chips and very overpriced. The waitress was unpleasant and rude which set a bad tone. I had bolognaise which was nice and well-cooked. My husband had carbonara which he said was OK but was half the size of my meal. Our daughter had margarita pizza. She is such a lover of pizza, but unfortunately this one was unpleasant with very very thick and rubbery cheese. She began retching after the first slice saying the cheese was sticking in her throat. She ended up leaving all but two slices and it felt like such a waste of money. We couldn't wait to pay the bill and go.
