Playa de Mataleñas — Attraction in Santander

Wonderful secondary and hidden beach in Santander. The beach is inside a cove with high rocks on the sides and can only be reached on foot after a steep staircase, there is a car park nearby however because it is about 30 minutes walk from the centre of Santander. Despite the isolation there are always lifeguards. Stunning beach with a secluded, cove-like feel and soft golden sand. Perfect spot for a relaxed picnic or some bodyboarding, with plenty of little areas to explore around the edges. It’s peaceful but not isolated, offering a great balance for families or solo visitors. Parking is free and only a short 7-minute walk away at Avenida Del Faro. A little bit more private than the one called “El Sardinero” which is more accessible to people in town as you can get there easy walking or by car. This one on the other hand is a little bit outside of towns and you must take a bus or a car to get here. You must descend I would say more than 200 steps to get into the sand and ocean area.
