Oh well, oh well...!
The location is great, the vibe is fine, the music is chilled and cool, and the food is good, but the service is appalling. When we arrived, the staff was welcoming, and after we confirmed our booking—a Balinese bed that in itself doesn't have any extra benefits other than having more space and being able to eat in it instead of having to reserve a table—we proceeded to have and order breakfast at a table. The waiter couldn't seem to be more disengaged, more occupied chatting and joking with his colleagues as well as welcoming other visitors when they were coming in—all this in the middle of taking our order. Once he had time for us and our order, he wasn't very helpful with our questions. Once we finished breakfast, the waiters just disappeared. No one around to ask further questions, so we just headed to our bed, assuming that the breakfast bill would be added to our bed.
From there, trying to get the staff's attention and get something ordered from the bed was a mission. Lunchtime came, and we decided to have lunch at a table instead of in the bed; similar experience as breakfast: an unfriendly, disengaged waiter that was also forgetting things from our order. Back in our bed, we were trying to order some drinks. Trying to get someone to take our order was very difficult and took too long when the waiters came; they came with a very bad attitude and almost made you feel like they were doing you a favour.
Personally, I don't think location can make up for bad service, so I definitely won't be coming back or will recommend this...
Read moreAs a restaurant owner in a touristic centre in another European city… also as a designer for luxury hospitality… my words might mean something a little more than nothing.
Vibe, setting, design… awesome. Location, lucky but also well capitalised. Nice! Love the natural textures, soundtrack, layered aspects design and the price point is just right… although I didn’t try the food… but that’s in the next part.
Clearly an international market, I was totally confused about the food service. Came to the bar for a drink and was told kitchen closes/opens at 5pm, no idea. Waited until 5… they meant closed. Right. I’ll say the waiters are excellent at posing and looking in different directions. Gays love that stuff… but not sure paying customers do, however tight their rear might be. Basic Plastic lounge beds?!… I don’t know, just doesn’t feel enough… these are the gays and their tolerators we’re serving. But ok, it’s easy.
If I wasn’t walking out here more drunk than I wanted to be, looking for a curry instead of the Quinoa prawn salad I had planned on arrival to level the afternoon… perhaps I might have marked higher. But get the team able to engage with your market and consider a later kitchen… but honestly, I know how complicated that is! #drunk&hungry...
