For 100 LKR local and 500 foreigner you can see romance in bloom. Budding couples sprout from every one of the well spaced park benches. take an umbrella to ensure privacy. The old track is closed so don’t try to go beyond the ropes. one can only hope that the latest Prince of Wales could put in a bit of dish to smooth the paths for the blossoming romantics. Friendly cafe over from the entrance. No views of lake or Kandy which is disappointing, but the attraction on the Sunday we went was definitely the love in the air.

Wales Park in Kandy is known by many names: The Royal Palace Park, Wace Park or Rajawasala Park. Situated on top of a hill, the park covers approximately 2 hectares of land and is known for its majestic views of the surrounding city and Kandy Lake. It was established by King Sri Vikrama Rajasinghe, the last king of the ancient Sinhalese monarchy, who was deposed by the British in 1815. The British subsequently renamed the king’s park to “Wales Park” in honour of the Prince of Wales in Britain.

The park is small, inside there's the first gun that the Britain's bought to Sri Lanka for the war other than that not the garden is maintained well. The most embarrassing thing is that there's couples all over the place where you would have to think twice to take your children for a place like this. Please behave well if you're visiting a place like this so that not only couples, everyone could visit places.

It's located at the middle of Kandy town. But it's not popular like other parks or gardens in Sri Lanka. From my visiting experience, this park very comfortable and suitable only for couples and lovers. Otherwise just avoid this place. Actually it is a small park. Not attractive entrance No more flowers The mini pool was dried Entrance fee 100/= per adult Not recommended for family trip or friends trip

If you ever went to Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens this park won't impress you. SO DON'T WASTE YOUR PRECIOUS TIME ! This Park is not properly maintained ( the fountain in the middle of the park is rotten with fallen leaves ) But they charge an entrance fee (30/-). Really, peoples houses have better garden than this one And this place is crowded by CREEPY LUSTFUL couples who think they R in LOVE

Small but nice relaxing park. Shop just outside to grab a drink and some snacks. Lots of benches and seating areas inside to chill out. 100 baht entry the park has a lot of names so don’t worry if you don’t see the correct sign. There are diggers and construction going on inside but at the Time I was there no one was working. Birds and wild life here. Overall it’s worth checking out.
