During our recent visit to Golden Curry Restaurant, we encountered a disheartening situation that I feel compelled to discuss. Despite placing a specific order for our meals, it was disconcerting to witness that our orders were altered without our consent before being served to us. This unfortunate incident was exacerbated by a noticeable lack of attention to detail and a deficiency in displaying proper etiquette by the staff.
Our dining experience was marred by an imperfect execution of service and a clear absence of good manners. The alteration of our orders without any prior notification was an unsettling surprise, indicating a breakdown in the communication between the customers and the restaurant. The services rendered were far from the level of quality one would expect, and the overall demeanor of the staff left much to be desired in terms of courtesy and professionalism.
In such situations, it's imperative for a dining establishment to maintain a high standard of service and ensure that the orders are precisely prepared as requested. Regrettably, this was not the case during our visit. The alteration of our orders without consent, coupled with the inadequacy in service etiquette, tarnished what could have been a pleasant dining experience.
As a patron, I hope that Golden Curry Restaurant takes these concerns seriously and undertakes the necessary measures to rectify these issues. An establishment's reputation is built upon the quality of its offerings as well as the professionalism of its staff. For potential customers considering a visit to Golden Curry, I would advise them to approach their decision thoughtfully, taking into account the shortcomings that were evident during my...

My recent experience at "Golden Curry" was far from satisfactory. A group of nine friends, including myself, dined at your restaurant. Unfortunately, our visit was marred by a series of disappointments.
Upon ordering, we received a completely different dish than what we had chosen. As we were sharing the food, some of us began eating without realizing the mistake. The dish names and items were unfamiliar to us. When we addressed this issue with the waiter, the response we received was shockingly rude. The waiter abruptly switched to speaking in English, seemingly attempting to belittle us. This sudden shift in behavior was both unnecessary and insulting.
Despite the mix-up and the unpleasant encounter with the waiter, we chose not to engage in an argument and paid the full bill. It's disappointing to encounter such unprofessional behavior from staff who seem to lack basic courtesy.
Even more disappointing was the quality of the food. The biriyani we ordered was a letdown. The excessive use of ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom overwhelmed the dish, making it far from enjoyable. It's disheartening when a signature dish fails to live up to expectations.
I believe that every establishment can have an off day, but the behavior we encountered from your waiter has left a lasting negative impression. We had hoped for a pleasant dining experience, but unfortunately, that was not the case. Improvements in both staff training and food quality are needed to restore customers' faith in the dining experience at...
Read moreUnfortunately we got into this ‘tourist trap’
Service: Every table has his own waiter. Which results in 8 different people walking non stop past your table, instead of 1 person overlooking the tables.
The waiter was super annoying, he basically bombarded us with all kinds of activities to do in Kandy. ‘I have tickets for the famous dance’ etc etc etc.
He was very pushy in what to order and didn’t listen what we asked for.
Food: Beef Killi parotta Egg rice Butter chicken
Beef had so much fat on it that it was not eatable. Butter chicken had nothing to do with butter chicken, old gravy and very sour taste. Egg rice with butter chicken is terrible, they have white rice but not on the menu. They say because locals don’t eat white rice, BUT the whole restaurant is full of tourist?
End result: 2 waiters, and the manager at the table to give honest feedback before putting it online. Manager offered new food which was kind, but really didn’t feel like it anymore.
After that, the guy that served us came to the table to tell us that we need to write a review. He told us to write that his service was good…
Payment: Manager took off 1 dish of the bill, kind of him. The waiter asked us if we are happy with the amount that we have to pay 3.500 rupee. Strange question if you ask me. I would’ve just like to have a nice meal instead of paying not eating and a bad...
