An amazing place with great prices. I was a bit worried whether it would be fine to come on my own (being a woman in a foreign country with a different culture creates sometimes questions about safety and social norms). I read the reviews here and all of them were very highly rated and recommended the services. So I trusted and tried myself. The place is run by blind people that are very knowledgeable and welcoming. I tried shiatsu massage for the first time and it turned out to be quite a workout for me 😅 Kasala (sorry if I misspelled the name) was very professional, he led me upstairs, worked for 2 hours on each of my muscles of the back, neck, legs, arms and head. He also pointed out at some issues that he could feel through the muscles. For 2 hours his hands remained strong and steady. The massage is done over the clothes, so it’s good to have light and rather thin ones. The masseur also puts a piece of fabric that moves over the massaged part. I greatly appreciate this place. Services are truly excellent. I would suggest to clients to give fair tips, as prices are way below what one usually pays in other countries. Thank you very much! Will be back ❤️

I was looking for a genuine massage place in Colombo and I went here after reading the Google reviews. I’m glad I did. This is no frills Massage Centre, it’s NOT a Spa. There is no music, no aroma candles, no mood lighting, just massage…real therapy massage. There are no cubicles or partitions but the massage is given with your clothes on and no oil is used. So there is no need to shower or change; casual, light, non slippery cotton clothes are ideal(thin t shirt and track pants). The masseurs are vision impaired (blind) so their sense of touch is heightened and that adds to your experience. The pressure was hard (as requested) and it was a pleasurable pain to endure. He pressed points that made me realize that he knew exactly what he was doing. I had signed up for a 30 minute session, and 5 minutes into the massage I told him that he could continue for 1 hour without even asking him the price. For anyone who wants a genuine massage, go for it ‘blindly’ 😎 Even if you don’t enjoy it like I did, it’s for a good cause, so why not give it a try??!!?? May 2024 - I’ve been here a few more time now and my review stands. Simply the best massage.

This massage was not one of the best, but was the best I have had in my life. I travel the world and when I travel my passion is massages and spas with my family. I often wish the Massuese could feel the pleasure areas and pain areas on the muscles and tendons. For me her the correct spot I have started to make funny grunting noises hoping the Massuese will take note that the area being pressed is good or painful. As of today I will be making no more noises... I don’t need to! The visually impaired use extra senses for this. “Sasanka” was massaging my muscles and while he was massaging he was with the other hand gently rubbing the attachment point where it connects to the bone. He was feeling for me flinching in pain or pleasure and adjusting accordingly. I’m about to shoot myself in the foot here as after thus review I’ll be needing g to wait in a long que at “Thusare talking hands” If you are a lover of massages like me and want an artisan, give it a try. To all staff at Thusare talking hands - Thank you. Richard Clausen

Have great appreciation and respect for the work of Thusare in providing blind members of the Sri Lankan community with careers as professional Shiatsu practitioners. A profession is very hard for them to find. I'm no expert but in Shiatsu their expertise should make Sri Lanka famous!! Apart from 1 Chiropractic centre my only available treatment choice in Colombo was massage. Needing focussed attention on my back Google helped me avoid wasting money on a back rub and the wrong sort of places. Thusare are excellent. Upon 2 visits I have benefitted greatly from their skill. No oil. No removal of clothes. Comfortable, peaceful and private environment. On the 2nd visit the experienced Rumesh was very skilled. Many thanks!

I went here because I had pain when I raised one of my arms. I checked Google Maps and made a reservation on Whatapp. When I arrived at the appointed time, the door was closed, so I knocked and a blind therapist opened the door for me. I confirmed the course and received a massage. He gave me a full body massage while checking the remaining time by voice. He was thorough, checking the parts of my body with the tips of his hands. I was concerned about whether the cloth that my face touches when I lie face down is clean, so next time I think I'll bring a towel with me. It was a great improvement. I would like to visit again.

A good place to treatments. Prices are quite reasonable as well. Staff are well trained and very polite. All treatments are provided by visually impaired people. They also provide a full body massage without using any oil. Can be slightly painful (but you can always ask them to tone it down if required) but at the end of it you feel great. The place is open even on poya abd other holidays. The only prolem is they normally close by 7.00pm but if you do call them and make a reservation they do keep it open till about 8.00pm.
