Playtrix Sports Bar and Cafe — Restaurant in Colombo

Rude, unapologetic, mannerless, incompetent staff! My husband and I have been going to this place for the food and music before the pandemic. recently we saw on facebook that Dillon from slipping chairs was playing there so we decided to go. and it happened to be a day where they had a cocktail promotion for ladies .1500 entrance fee for unlimited cocktails. on the first friday they never mentioned about the cocktails promotion, we ordered from the normal menu. after sometime we heard about it from another table and asked the lady who was serving us about it. She very reluctantly explained it to us. If there is a promotion going on they should let the customer know when they are ordering. they just advertise promotions on social media to lure in people and never mentions it when customers are there. eventhough the experience was bad we left a generous tip and decieded to go back next friday because the music was good thanks to Dillon. I made a reservation around 4 in the evening to go there around 8 p.m . A female answered the phone and took our reservation. so we got all dressed up , took a cab cause both of us were planning on drinking and came all the way from dehiwala right after a family trip to kosgoda because we really wanted to see Dillon perform. When we went there ,the same female waitress who served us the last time checked the reservation list and seemed lost. I dont think she has even written our reservation down. there were a couple of empty tables but she said they are all reserved and pointed at the dark corner of the bar and said we can sit there. it was near the kitchen, cant see anything other than the bartender. to sit at the bar , you dont need a reservation. its for walk in customers. when we politely asked whether we can get anywhere else they rudely said no, there is nothing they can do. they didnt even try. and didnt apologize even once. so we went home. we will never be going back there again. And we found that Dillon is playing at Breezebar at cinnamon grand on saturday evenings. so the next day we went there. I have no words to explain the difference between the customer service. its like night and day. they were proffessional and as soon as we sat down explained us about the cocktail promotion they have and was so good to us. and the music was perfect. So if you are a person who goes for the music then go to breeze bar. everything...

Located at Colombo City Center, the Playtrix sports bar is an ideal location to visit with your friends, colleagues or just by yourself also to indulge in some tasty food & a nice range of drinks. However there are a few drawbacks when it comes to the service of the team on the floor.

We visited at around 1.00 pm and it was practically empty, there was a table for 6 to 8 people and there were 3 of us adults with 1 child and requested if we could sit in the comfy and cozy looking booth, however we were asked not to sit there as we are too few in numbers. Requested courteously once more as the place was empty telling them that if a large crowd comes we will move, yet we were not allowed. So we sat at another location. No hassle there and no big deal.

Then we order a few beers and chilled till our movie started, when it was time to leave we asked for the discount but was then told that it was only valid if we have the tickets. Even after showing him the E-tickets it was rejected. No big deal, paid the full amount and left. Came back after the movie to have a few more beers and at that time to my surprise I found the table that was large and where we were rejected being occupied by 4 adults. Now at this time, it was apparently not an issue for him to provide this large booth to only 4 pax which was very disappointing. Then came the order this time around and upon paying for the bill, the same waiter double checked with me twice over to confirm if I watched the movie and was treating us like people who would forge tickets for a 10% discount. Which was quite disappointing.

Adding to the above its good if the management takes a look at the foosball table which is about to collapse on the feet of people. Noticed it later on, but in can cause some serious injuries to the players.

Overall, the food was great, but there is no point in visiting a location with such terrible service.
