I had dinner here on my birthday. First thing I noticed was the unwelcomeness from the staff. And it remained the same for the duration of the meal. The atmosphere is meh. Small place and very small washroom. The plus point was thst food was good. We ordered a dahi puri to my wifes recommendation and I think I somewhat came close to nirvana gaking that bite. First bite you feel the cold tangy yogurt, probably lassi spurt in to my mouth and it get completed with the out crispy shell and other stuff in it. It was well worth the price. We also ordered some chicken kebab which I loved as well. The rotti platter was a very good idea and we ate to our hearts content. I would love the flavours to a bit bold though.

Went there for a Saturday lunch. Thought of ordering two potions but the waiter suggested that one potion is enough for too. So we went for a Prawn Biryani, 2 lime juices and bottle of water. Prawn Biryani was good. It has pure north indian taste in the Biryani. The gravy was tasty. It was indeed enough for two people. Prawn Biryani was priced 1300 LKR. Lime juice was typical and average. For the dessert we went for a vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup and nuts prices 450 LKR. It also tasted good. Atmosphere was also good. It was peaceful and quite even being a Saturday lunch time. Service was also good. Be prepared for 4000 Rs, for 2 people if you are going for a lunch.

A Disappointing Experience at The Mango Tree ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ My recent visit to The Mango Tree was filled with disappointment and frustration, as the restaurant made multiple mistakes. Here's a breakdown of the issues I encountered: Hidden Charges and Lack of Transparency:- The first letdown was the restaurant's practice of collecting a service charge and an undisclosed government tax. While I understand that service charges are common in some places, customers have the right to know about these additional costs upfront. The fact that the government tax was buried in tiny text at the bottom of the menu is inexcusable. Such practices feel like an attempt to deceive patrons and take advantage of their lack of awareness about the charges. Suggestion:- The Mango Tree should clearly display all charges, including government taxes, on the menu in a prominent and easily visible manner. This way, customers can make informed decisions about their expenses before placing an order. ****************************************************************** False Promises :- when inquiring about the possibility of using the "koko" payment option, the staff assured us that they did accept it. However, at the end of the meal, they told us that their koko account was locked, and they couldn't process the payment as promised. Suggestion:- It is imperative that the restaurant ensures the availability and functionality of payment options they promote. If a particular payment method is temporarily unavailable, customers must be informed beforehand to avoid any inconveniences or surprises during checkout. ****************************************************************** The combination of these two mistakes made for a highly unpleasant experience at The Mango Tree. As a customer, I expect honesty, transparency, and reliability from any establishment, especially when it comes to financial matters. I urge The Mango Tree's management to take immediate action to correct these issues and prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. By being transparent about charges, displaying them clearly, and ensuring that advertised payment options are functional, the restaurant can rebuild trust and provide a better dining experience for its patrons. Until these necessary changes are implemented, I cannot recommend The Mango Tree to others, and I will think twice before considering another visit. As a customer, I hope that my feedback will be taken seriously and lead to positive changes in the restaurant's operations.

I stopped in for dinner on Dec 30th with my wife and two adult daughters, it was completely unplanned, we just happened to be in the area. We ordered a Paneer Tikka and I liked it but others didn’t care for it. My daughters shared a Mutton Biryani and Mixed Raita and they didn’t like it. My wife and I ordered Butter chicken, Mutton Roganjosh, some plain/butter Naan and rice. I really liked the Naan and Butter Chicken. The Butter Chicken was not like I’m used to having in the USA, it was better. However, the Mutton Roganjosh was just OK and didn’t have too much Mutton in it. We also had a Mango Lassi, a Faluda and Fruit Salad and all of them were good. I don’t think I’ll be coming back to this restaurant for a while because the food was OK, it wasn’t something that I would crave to come back here for.

Delicious food with great service We went there for lunch and at that time restaurant was quite busy. The staff was really helpful with us and they made us feel very comfortable at the first place. We ordered Chicken Tikka Biriyani. The food was with great taste. The portion was big and good enough for both of us. Food is bit expensive but it is reasonable for the taste and the service we got. Recommend this place for lunch and dinner.
