Postavljena je bila v 16. stoletju kot kraljeva rezidenca, kasneje pa je dolgo služila univerzi – nekoč so bile tu knjižnica, predavalnice in celo univerzitetna cerkev. Danes stavbo večinoma lahko občudujemo le od zunaj, a že sama lega tik ob katedrali in univerzitetnem trgu daje vtis zgodovinske teže. Arhitektura je preprosta, a mogočna, lepo dopolnjuje okolico in pričara občutek, da stojiš v središču enega najstarejših univerzitetnih mest na severu Evrope. Čeprav notranjost ni odprta za obiskovalce, je Kungshuset zanimiv postanek ob ogledu Lunda – predvsem za ljubitelje zgodovine in akademske dediščine.
