Kulturen – Lund - Sweden Really cool way to discovery Swedish culture and spend a nice day! Kulturen is a really nice open-air museum located in Lund – Sweden and according to Wikepedia is the second oldest open-air museum after Skansen in Stockholm. Founded in 1892 by local historian, Georg Karlin, you will be able to access Kulturen by 8 minutes walking distance from Lund central station, just near the historic Lund Cathedral. If you are in Malmo - Sweden or even Copenhagen, it's really easy and quick to get the train to Lund and you will be surprised how you can spend a really great day! You will find over 30 different buildings that you can get inside and discovery traditional culture of Scania province with unique items and collections, a coffee shop with delicious pastries, clothes and objects used in the main events as weddings, daily activities, the beautiful Bosebo Church that was built in 1652 that is still used for services, weddings, concerts etc For those who have children, there is an opportunity to show then this important collection and traditional part of the history and they will find an area to play in the museum area. Kulturen also offers a restaurant at the entrance, an area to people sit and have some lunch inside, a gift shop and a nice green area with flowers and local plants. All of this for a reasonable price. Grade: Eli = 5, Recommend: Yes totally worth it, really beautiful place, especially to visit in a sunny day. Just get there with comfortable shoes and be ready to walk for ½ day to not loose any detail ☺

Excellent exhibitions, inside and out, and most of it had enough English translations to keep an avid learner busy for at least half a day. BTW, half a day is the *minimum* I'd recommend you devote to this place - I was here from 11:30 to closing time and only technically finished because the Folklore house was closed for renovations. Whoever said people typically spend up to 2,5 hrs here must not have counted anyone who actually read the documentation. The main building has 3 floors of artifacts and displays, and so do 3 other large buildings in the open-air section. Granted, there's nowhere near as much writing in the other buildings, but they still take a lot longer than the couple of minutes you might spend looking around one of the little thatched-roof peasant houses. The cafe is pretty good to - their chocolate balls were amazing.

The museum reunites different housing styles from various times. Most of them are depicted according to the different seasons/festivities during the year offering a pretty unique and accurate view of how was life and customs of swedes back then. Due to the (large) amount of buildings, several exhibitions (between permanent and temporary) happen at the same time so it's better to choose which ones beforehand and grab a map at the entrance to better locate everything inside. Space for kids is available even as part of some of the exhibitions. Clean bathrooms, guided tours are available during the week at specific times.

⚠️about 60% wheelchair accessible⚠️ All of The insides are fully accessible but the outside where the houses are Is not fully accessible. The roads with tiny rocks are disturbing and has tiny hills that may require help if you’re using manual wheelchair. the insides of the houses outside are not accessible. The English guide tour was good but only introduces few houses. Still, ask for help if you use wheelchair they will be willing to instruct you to path that is accessible✨ And the FOOD ... IS AMAZING FOR REAL. Lund’s best I must say Try out for lunch! I don’t remember seeing any fully vegan menus though.

Strongly recommend this museum. We accidentally came across this museum and was attracted by the Pippi flag. U was doubt about it at the very beginning while the tickets cost 130 SEK. I was doubt why such small town has any attractive place cost such amount. After entering the museum, I was totally attract d by the exhibition and the design. It's really a nice place to come with kids and.as adult you can also learn a lot about Swedish history and why Swedisch looks like. I really enjoy it. Will visit again.

Beautiful place, outdoor museum where kids and grown ups can enjoy themselves visiting a referent in the Scandinavian-Swedish culture. Around a green space you’ll visit different houses and constructions where you can see how our ancestors lived and worked. You can also visit Pippi Långstrump’s house where kids can play. Now during Christmas time, you can also visit the market inside with homemade traditional Christmas foods and drinks. Highly recommended to spend a couple of hours.
