I stayed at this bed and breakfast last night and checked out this morning. The issue that makes this an absolute hoot rid stay is one of the owners. I came down this morning to eat my breakfast and mentally prepare for my lecture. Got a meager plate of bread, two cherry tomatoes and two slices of cucumber. As I was eating he wouldn’t leave me alone. He first started asking where I was from, which I find very uncomfortable but also disruptive. I told him I was Swedish from Stockholm but He insisted on finding out where in Africa I was from. Despite me telling him and informing him these were very uncomfortable conversations to have with people I don’t know and who definitely are only asking me so they can tell me about their own experiences travelling in “Africa” but he continued at length until I had to get up from my table and leave. He lacks all social decorum and forces conversations with customers that perhaps want to eat in silence. ||||As I went upstairs and got my bags and came back down to leave. He opened the front door for me and gave me a very racist and uncalled for advice. He said “I am going to give you one advice next time you stay at a hotel don’t leave food leftovers on your plate, think of all the starving african children” ||||Firstly he is arrogant, he is ignorant and he lacks all knowledge of social structures and ques. He likes to impose himself and his irrelevant views on women and black women at that. He has zero interest in allowing you to speak so any conversation is grossly one sided in his favour and his chauvinistic behavior makes me never wish to stay at this hotel again, if you a lone traveler, female or otherwise avoid this place like the plague. ||||To the owner if you read this I truly hope you take this critique as it is intended. A reminder that just because someone stays at your hotel they are not looking for your company, not your opinions on Africa or how they should eat. Furthermore African children surely will never be helped by one half eaten sandwich a cherry tomato and a stale piece of cheese. Your attitude is what made me leave my plate of food as you are VERY INTRUSIVE Get over yourself and leave your guests...
Read moreI entered the wrong room, because instruction in the email was not clear… at midnight the other guests arrive and they wanted to enter their room, where I was sleeping. So the owner decided to enter my room while I was asleep, he woke me up and started to furiously yale at me. I got so scared, I got a panic attack and couldn’t breathe or speak for a while. After that I explained why I chose this room and he was again screaming on me.. then he talked to the other guests and they decided to stay at the other room. The rest of the night I didn’t sleep, because I got so stressed. In the morning I decided to leave the hotel because I didn’t feel safe there anymore. Owner was surprised and he tried to keep me there, telling me I shouldn’t worry because everybody makes mistakes. He told me that he was tired and that he was also very scared when the other guests woke him up with a call… There was a mistake in the email, because it said that all the rooms are on the first floor and the one word, which said “groundfloor” was in Swedish, so I couldn’t understand it. That’s why I entered the wrong room… BUT.. Unfortunately, there is no explanation for me for such a behaviour. You just can’t enter the room when a person is sleeping there and you can’t scream on that person. Even if it’s your guest who chose the wrong room. And what if I would be sleeping there naked? It’s the worse accommodation experience I have ever had. I don’t reccomend this...
Read moreIf you’re planning to stay here, be prepared to have an incredible amount of patience. The owner is simply not on site at agreed times. On our last day, we had to wait around 2.5 hours just to pay in person—bank transfer isn’t an option, even though they do accept card payments in person. Because of this delay, we missed our train and had to buy a new ticket.
While traveling, I unfortunately realized I had left my headphones in the room. I called the owner just to ask if they were still there. Before even checking, he immediately became defensive and asked what I expected from him—whether I thought he should go out of his way during “his time” to send them back. This was especially frustrating considering he had made us wait for hours multiple times during our stay.
He told me his time is valuable and that he only works for about €30 an hour, which I would have to pay if he were to send them. We agreed on the phone that I would cover the shipping costs and that I should email him my address. That was over five weeks ago, and he hasn’t responded to any of my emails or calls since.
A quick look at my call history during the stay would give you a clear idea of how seriously service and communication are taken here. Under these circumstances, I strongly advise against staying—unless you’re someone who enjoys waiting for hours every day, as if you were stuck in a doctor’s...
