Dear San Franciscan,

Beginning of October 2024, I stayed a few more days after completing my Scandic tour. Cool weather around 50F. Thought I need 3 day pass of using the train, but as long as you stay in city center, you don’t really need one. (example: At Six, or IKEA as my point of start), this is a city you can explore by foot. It’s 30 mins walk from City center, visited most of the museums, had lunch in one of the restaurant nearby, Viking Museum, ABBA museum, a walk by the river, passed the Noble st, got about 20K steps in a day. It is a relaxing day.

Yes you want to do the cruise tour when you can, and sign up with a guide who can narrate it for you the history of the town and what you see. Breathe those fresh air. I can see me returning back to Stockholm just to visit...

Djurgården (pronounced [ˈjʉ̌ː(r)ɡɔɳ] or [ˈjʉ̂ːrˌɡoːɖɛn]) or, more officially, Kungliga Djurgården (Swedish for 'The [Royal] Game Park'), is an island in central Stockholm, Sweden. Djurgården is home to historical buildings and monuments, museums, galleries, the amusement park Gröna Lund, the open-air museum Skansen, the small residential area Djurgårdsstaden, yacht harbours, and extensive stretches of forest and meadows. It is one of the Stockholmers' favorite recreation areas and tourist destinations alike, attracting over 10 million visitors per year, of which some 5 million come to visit the museums and amusement park. The island belongs to the National City park founded in 1995. Since the 15th century the Swedish monarch has owned or held the right of disposition of Royal Djurgården. Today, this right is exercised by the Royal Djurgården Administration which is a part of the Royal Court of Sweden.

Love it, love it and love it again and again! 😍 So beautiful and peaceful place with an amazing nature. It's a Royal 😁Island as well, with the best view on the Stockholm City. It's in the same time place with lot of museum such as Vasa museum, Abba museum, Nordiska museum, Museum of Vikings etc. There is also Skansen - the oldest open- in the world with a gorgeous Zoo. Also, I need to mention Gröna Lund - Amusement Park - entertain for the whole family or adrenalin day with your friends. You can come with ferry (wich I recomend) and it takes less then 10 min or you can take tram. However, the fun or/and relaxation is...

A must-visit for anyone traveling to Stockholm. This island is absolutely beautiful and open to the public for free! The park is extremely lush, green, and expansive with many experiences to choose from, whether you are looking to take a long stroll, stretch out on a blanket, eat a good meal with a scenic view, or learn about Swedish history at Skansen. I highly recommend having coffee or lunch at Rosendals Trädgård - a locally operated farm and dining destination centrally located in the park. There is even an option to take your meal and enjoy it in the beautiful apple orchard.
