Great thermal bath spa! My wife and I as well as another couple (our friends traveling with us) all loved this place. Good variety of water temperatures in the different pools including a couple that are quite hot. Indoor area is very nice and when you swim through the transition into the outdoor section there is a beautiful view of a green grassy area/park then a lake in front of some lovely Swiss alps! I actually found this place by just searching with my mouse on my computer while on Google maps knowing we were going to be driving from Lugano up to Valle Verzasca damm and Ponte di Salti bridge which are both amazing and only 20-35 minutes from these thermal pools. The more I visit Europe from the USA, the more I love doing things like this (where there are little to no tourists from outside of Europe). It’s a nice change of pace for half a day if your like us and go pretty hard sightseeing/hiking etc. during your European vacations. These type of thermal spas pools are pretty common in Switzerland and Germany and several other places in Europe (Budapest). Hot springs in the United States are quite different from what I’ve seen. From what we have seen so far in Europe, it’s like a spa, small swimming pool(s) of varying temperatures had a baby (at times there are even couple of water slides). These European thermal spa/bath places are quite different but most are medium to smaller than what you might think someone would design in the USA. But actually I can’t think of anything like this in America. It’s hard to describe, I wish we had these type of places in America! We have now been to: the main thermal pools in Baden Baden Germany and in Budapest and two in Switzerland (Bernaqua in Bern is the other Swiss one). The two in Switzerland are our favorites out of the four mentioned. After doing some research I’m looking forward to visiting thermal baths in Leukerbad and Les Bains de Lavey for our next Switzerland trip! My wife and I are obsessed with these little thermal pool, spa, bath, oasis whatever you want to name them. Obviously if they were more common in America we would have a name for this type of resort/spa/wherever you want to call...
Read moreThe Sauna at Termali Salini & Spa Locarno is always a great place to go whenever i need a relaxing time, great lake view from the Sauna room and nice ceremony program, the staffs conduct the ceremonies have mostly great performances, I always hold great respect to them in which they bring the guests good quality of performance under the circumstance of very high temperature in sauna room. My partner and I enjoy our time there every time we go.
An exceptional occasion occurred on the X'mas day. First of all thank you for the Sauna Staffs who worked on X'mas day. As always we enjoyed the Sauna and the ceremonies program. But twice during the ceremony, the staffs had to put on the costume of Santa Claus, we were filled with complex feeling during these two ceremonies, as for me it was more a experience of suffering, shocking, disappointing and not able to enjoy and connect with my body with relaxation at all.
I suffered that the staffs had to wear this ridiculous costume which is made by artificial material and is actually not even allowed to be in the sauna room because it is not cotton which put the staffs into suffering not just from the heat but from the sweat that the costume created in additional.
I was shocked that I went to Sauna to relax and to connect with my body and also to escape from all these X'mas scenes that the commercial business creates for more consumptions, which in a shop or a restaurant I can understand the purpose of it, but in a Sauna Room, I really don't see what is the point!!!!!
I was disappointed, as such a place like Termali Salini should offers a professional spa environment instead of the ridiculous Santa Claus costume for the staff in the Sauna Room, I do hope that the staffs receive extra compensation for such a "show" they were asked to put on. As a customer, me and my partner find it is really unnecessary. It rather bring us to opposite of relaxation.
We like to enjoy the sauna and the ceremony performance, and we also would like to see that the staffs can perform their work with confident and have respect from all.
Once again, thank you for the Sauna Staffs who worked...
Read moreFirst impression on Termail Salini in Locarno does not meet the expectations of their sister spa in Hürlimannbad, Zurich; or others in Switzerland.
Entry was seamless, clean, and the lockers were easy to manage. The “spa” feeling was comparable to a hurried water park entrance and exit. Thankfully there were blow dryers.
When you enter the spa there are several visible stone levels for thermal baths to enjoy. We didn’t notice the change in the temperature with any of the baths. The outside has a beautiful view of the lake complete with visuals of the public walking their dogs or enjoying the outside. As with the typical baths there are outside seating with bubbles on the seats. There was even a cigarette not discreetly hidden with a lighter in one of the palm trees. We enjoyed each of these levels before our private couples massage upstairs which was over 400e total.
Upstairs they only offer you water and tea. We noticed people in robes, but this was not offered at the time of check in. When we were escorted to our room the duo masseuses did not leave the room but held up towels for us to undress with cotton g strings. However, during the 70 min massage we were basted with oil on the black plastic beds. Zero interaction with pressure and basically pouring oil from clear condiment bottles. Our arms kept slipping and I had visuals of falling from the bed when we turned over. Afterwards we were asked to robe without placing our bathing suits on, so we hurried up then walked downstairs with our bathing suits in hand to the bottom floor to enter the nude adult sauna. More men than women in the bleachers facing each other. This is normal apparently, but the space provided for a relaxing instead clouded with low audible grunting for space. Sadly this was disappointing for the entire experience. Not a wonderful recommendation for the amount paid vs the experience in Zurich which we will return this week. However, there are many other reviews that actually enjoy this kind...
