There is not much to the castle itself. It has been turned into restaurants. Surrounding it, though, is a playground, shops, eateries, toilets, and a church. There is a small exhibition. For photography of the castle, you get more scenic views from the other side of the river. You can cross using the train bridge, which has a pedestrian pathway. The best views of the falls are from the left-hand side when crossing. You get tickets for accessing the falls viewing platforms at the castle. You can pay by cash or card. The machine was easy to use. I got there early, so there was a small queue. This got larger as the day progressed. I can see it getting very busy in the summer, so I would recommend pre-booking tickets. If you use a wheelchair or a pushchair, you are asked to purchase your tickets from the Schloss Laufen Visitor Centre. They can not be purchased online.
