Parc de Mon Repos

There is a sense that the park is divide into sections. To the north of the park there is a sports field, skateboard ramp and a beautiful secluded viewing area. The center of the park is the 'kids' area. There is a very large sand pit with a water pump. The kids love it. Adjacent there is a small climbing fame and some swings. To the left of this play area is a small wooded area with some large wood carvings of a dragon, bear, owl, squirrel and a boat. During the summer some additional features are added. South of the play area is a small café which sells ice cream and a selection of snacks during the summer. Seating is in the shade and has a great view of the playing area. I love having a coffee and watching the kids trier themselves out. To the west of the park are two rolling hills. Its a great place to sit and relax. It seems to be a couples favorite. Just when you think there can't be anything else, there is. To the East there are two bird sanctuaries and a fish pond and a small waterfall. There are lots of different types of birds, some exotic some common. I love the parrots and peacocks. You can't feed them and you shouldn't, they definitely don't look like they are deprived. At anytime of the year its a great place to go. Great effort is taken by the grounds keeps during the summer and the flower displays are amazing. There are a couple of other things to see which I'm not going to mention here - go and find them, you won't be disappointed!
