Much remains the secret of nature, but what is known makes Leukerbad absolutely extraordinary. It takes an unbelievable 40 years for the seeping mountain water deep in the Alps to be enriched with valuable minerals, warmed to the perfect temperature of up to 51° Celsius, and transformed into thermal water. Only then does it bubble naturally from the earth and flow into the Leukerbad baths. To step into these waters is to experience true Alpine wellness, a gift of nature that has been patiently prepared for decades.
The Leukerbad Therme is the largest thermal bath in the entire Alpine region, and it truly deserves its reputation as an Alpine wellness paradise for young and old. With ten relaxing baths, family-friendly slides, and a modern sauna area offering a wide range of wellness and natural healing options, this place is unforgettable. The backdrop of the Alps, combined with the charm of the beautiful town of Leukerbad, makes the experience even more magical.
We stayed from 8 in the morning until 8 at night and enjoyed every moment. The pools are soothing, the atmosphere is rejuvenating, and the spa treatments are exceptional. Be sure to request Nicole for your massage or treatment, as her care and expertise make the day even more special. From bathing in the thermal waters to indulging in the wellness services, the hours simply slipped away in pure relaxation and joy.
This is not just a place to visit, it is a place to linger. A single day is wonderful, but a few days are ideal in order to fully enjoy both the Therme and the many beautiful hikes that surround Leukerbad. Between the healing waters, the serenity of the spa, and the natural beauty of the Alps, this is truly a destination like no other.
If you are searching for an experience that combines wellness, fun, and breathtaking scenery, the Leukerbad Therme is perfect. It is a place to restore body and spirit, to laugh and relax, and to create memories that will...
Read moreVery rude staff at the main pool !
We are a family with twins from Geneva. Our kids adore thermal baths. This was our first time in Leukerbad Therme and it was a lower quality expérience. Like some other customers below, we had experience with rude staff who speak only German. The problem was that our twins like face water masks so they can play and dive. There was no information on website, no sign at the reception and none at the pool facilities . So when one of the pool staff started pointing at our kids saying something in swiss German, we didn't understand much, but then realised he was saying to take off masks. When we tried to ask why, instead of making an attempt to simply explain, he was evidently rude in German and acted like we were criminals. Several hours later an older staff member was able to answer our questions in broken English, but he was so rude and frustrated, my husband and I thought he would hit us at some point. During our stay we observed multiple families like ours that came in with goggles and were refused on the spot, obviously leaving children and parents disappointed. Note to management: please give appropriate training to your staff on some basic principles of customer service. please, if possible, try to have staff with knowledge of other languages that Swiss German. Leukerbad is an international resort and people come from multiple countries. please provide clear information on the website, reception and inside pool facilities about equipment that is allowed or not allowed to use to...
Read moreRegular client there, overall excellent in terms of facilities, friendliness of staff and cleanliness. The only bad thing is the kids that should not be allowed under a certain age (noise and hygiene) in the outdoor area, especially since they have their own space in the indoor area (ok closed for now due to renovation)... The result is that sometimes you feel it is a standard public swimming pool with kids messing around while thermal bath aim to be a quiet area for relaxing & wellness. This start to be really annoying and as always parents are not able to educate their children correctly to respect the area. Plus lately it has been pretty crowded, so the only way to relax is to go to the spa area. As well, parking price is totally crazy. These 2 facts leave me perplexed if I will renew my annual pass after spring next year. The reason for the 4 stars and not the 5 is really the kids disturbing the entire place and ruining the experience. I know it might be difficult to do not allow kids under 16 for example as a part of the clientele will be lost but maybe have a day or two with an adult only policy could be an idea or for example with hours early morning or late evening. However, children under 6 should be definitely banned for hygienic reasons, not acceptable to see babies under 3 with diapers swimming around... Except this, I am used to thermal bath in many places in the world and I can say this one is definitely my favourite. I think the job to maintain and even improve the facility...
