The view from the chateau is spectacular but everything else is a major disappointment. We stayed in the 2 bedroom appartment. The dining room table was sticky, so gross. Impossible to take a shower without flooding the place. The toilet seat is not fixed properly, the bed sheets are not white. There were stains on the floor. It didn’t feel clean at all. This place is not worth the price you pay. I have a feeling the owners want to make money without doing the necessary repairs this place needs. They think that because they have a nice view, they don’t need to anything or provide any type of service.
To top it off, as we entered the apartment, the Conceige had the nerve to say their internet was down. All in all, this was a terrible experience and I would advise no one to stay here until they fix this place.
In the courtyard, the pavement is covered with moss - it is so slippery. I hate it when I see a place with potential that doesn’t fill that potential. Instead they financially extort their guests and give them little in return. Look at the photos below to get an idea of what this place really looks like. Don’t trust the photos they have on...
Read moreFreezing in the winter, uncomfortable and poorly maintained. Sure, it's lovely but honestly the most uncomfortable stay I've ever had at a hotel or AirBnB. The 4 bedroom apartment had tiny radiators that couldn't heat the drafty, damp castle. When it was 40f degrees outside, it was 45f inside, with all the heaters on. We were all freezing, and the fireplaces were so poorly maintained that they smoked us out of the apartment when we tried to use them. Some of the beds were uncomfortable, the oven and kitchen exhaust fan were broken, anything put in the bottom 3rd of the fridge will freeze solid, the coffee machine took special pucks they didn't sell in the local grocery stores, and the innkeeper left us 6 pucks, total, for a family weeklong stay. The living room got WiFi but had no outlets, the bedroom had outlets but didn't get WiFi. After the damp cold and the smoke, several of our family got sick and our mother had to be hospitalized...
Read moreThe chateau still belongs to one owner. It is famous for its wine from its own vineyard. This is a very famous wine. Chateau is located at the top of a picturesque hill, surrounded by vineyards. Around is a beautiful park. But the territory of the castle is private and the entrance there is closed. This is not a museum. However, I did not know this and went inside. There I was barked by the owner's dog. A pleasant woman came out to meet me, with apologies I retired. Very embarrassing that I didn't bother to read the signs in French. I hope the owners will forgive the negligent tourist. Literally five hundred meters away there is a large observation deck with a magnificent view of the chateau.
P.s. 2023, You can rent apartments in the castle. We managed to live there. It was in winter. I can imagine how wonderful it is in...
