This hotel was difficult to review and assess and whilst I've given it 4 stars, I decided to round up from 3.5 stars, rather than round down. The hotel is located about 15 minutes walk from the railway station and is at the end of town. However, there is a convenient bus stop outside to go into town and to return. |Check in/out is at the (5 star?) Royal Plaza Hotel across the road, which is unusual; breakfast is there as well; luggage storage if required, is also at the Royal Plaza and they provide complimentary public transport tickets. Reception provide you with a keycard and code to enter Villa Toscane, with entry along a short side street off the main road. Looking at the exterior of the hotel, your initial thoughts are oh, oh, it looks a little run down. However, on entering, it has clearly been and is still being, renovated (without any inconvenience). Our room faced the back of the hotel, which meant it was nice and quiet and it was modern and looked newly renovated. All facilities were there - a safe, a fridge, desk, chairs, coffee table, although a large portable fan substituted for air con. Plus, best of all, we had two bathrooms. Whether that is standard, I have no idea. It was very comfortable.|As mentioned, breakfast was back across the road at the Royal Plaza and breakfast was pretty average, with...
Read more"I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Villa Toscane in Montreux, and I must say, it was an excellent choice! The hotel exceeded my expectations in many ways.
Rooms: The rooms are nicely appointed, comfortable, and equipped with all the necessary facilities. The bed was cozy, and the bathroom was clean and well-maintained.
Staff: The staff were friendly, courteous, and helpful. Special mention to the front office team, who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was seamless.
Location: The hotel's location is fantastic, with easy access to Montreux's main attractions.
Breakfast: While the hotel shines in many areas, the breakfast could use some improvement. The options were limited, and I found myself wishing for more variety.
Overall: Hotel Villa Toscane is an excellent choice for anyone visiting Montreux. With its comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and prime location, it's hard to go wrong. Just hope they expand their breakfast offerings soon!
Recommendation: Yes, I would highly recommend Hotel Villa Toscane to fellow travelers.

Read moreWe came to Montreux to see a few days of the Jazz Festival with our family of 5 (kids 18, 15, 9). I read lots of not great reviews before we came, but they had a room that could comfortably fit our fam, unlike most hotels we were at on the trip so we took a chance (and were rewarded). ||Before we arrived they sent the Montreux Riviera Card sign up so we had access to all public transport on arrival. Check-in across the street at the Royal Plaza was easy. Staff were fantastic, super helpful and pointed out all of the options and amenities. ||Breakfast - we didn’t do the light breakfast that is fully included on any of the 3 mornings, but instead paid the 10CHF per person to have the very good full breakfast. ||Pool - encountered 2 other people each time we went. Kids enjoyed. ||Room - it was hot out, but the room stayed reasonably cool. A bit worn, but not the end of the world. It is a nice old building. We heard noise from the festival, which we expected. If we didn’t want noise we could have stayed far away from this area. ||Overall, there was almost zero alignment with the complaints in other reviews. We’d come back, if we ever can afford it again (Switzerland is expensive. We knew it would be....
