Keelung Harbour Excursion & Seafood Lunch

One of the must do’s when in Taipei, is the short 40 minute drive to Keelung and it’s Harbour

Taiwan’s northernmost Harbour, famed for its amazing fresh seafood (which Taiwan is generally known for) is simply a must!

Mostly when we went before to Keelung, it was regarding the night market, old town etc. this time we opted to do a lunchtime trip which we thoroughly enjoyed, especially catching up with an old team member of ours, who brought us around and naturally he took us beside a nice walk to his favourite Seafood Haunt!

Today unfortunately the selection was somewhat limited as the Boats were not able to ship out the night before, due to weather conditions , which is quite natural during this time of the year! Yet the selection we ordered was fresh and super tasty!

From the Famed Oyster Omelette, via crispy white bait, to superb Clams, stir fried cabbage, to a Garoupa cooked two ways, soupy and steamed. It was an exceptional lunch experience which we enjoyed!

Keelung is definitely worth a trip if you enjoy Taiwanese traditions

Amazed at how clean the streets are no traffic yet drivers are so disciplined! Going to Kee lung is quiet a peaceful ride overlooking the peaceful sea. Lined up with large stones..and a few openings where if your driving and decide you want to stop and park your vehicle..stare and inhale seawater ..or go down maybe .for a minute .walk a bit so your feet can touch water... passingby windmills and saw eagles! mountains and passingby one way lighted tunnels..large fishing boats are docked and saw 2 very enormous ship..we went and ate in a nearby bay restaurant with a very large array of fishes..mostly deep sea fishes where you can chose and have them cook it.. the fisherfolk were good people letting us take videos and letting us touch fish and even putting sea urchins in our hands for the experience! Wonderful yet scary :) you feel its needles walking in your hand want to throw it but realize its alive and dropping it is not an option just...

Keelung Port, located in northern Taiwan, is one of the island’s busiest and most important seaports. Here’s a concise yet rich description:

Keelung Port is a deep-water harbor nestled along Taiwan’s northeastern coast, known for its strategic importance and scenic beauty. Surrounded by lush hills and steep coastline, the port serves as a major gateway for international cargo and cruise liners. It’s particularly famous for its vibrant night views, historic architecture, and the Keelung Miaokou Night Market nearby, which draws visitors with its array of Taiwanese street food. The port’s unique blend of industrial activity, maritime history, and urban culture makes it a dynamic hub that reflects both modern and traditional...
