This is a place that is near and dear to my heart. Lots of memories here. Located right next to Shoushan (where the macaque monkeys are) and Sun Yat Sen University. It might be a little bit tricky to get there because its technically “one street in” but shouldn’t be hard with google maps.
They must’ve remodeled the place in the past 10-15 years..who knows, but there is now a clearly marked paid parking lot, clean landscaping for people to walk and enjoy the sea view/sunset, bathrooms, and a few vendors/shops selling food. Behind the bathrooms you’ll also find some stairs that lead to higher vantage points and even some old cannons and forts.
In the same area, right next to the entrance of the university is a steep road that goes up the hill to a temple (十八王公廟). The old superstition is that couples will end up splitting if they visit the place. You can climb the stairs or somehow get up the hill~don’t even attempt unless you have a really strong scooter. Trust me lol.
Not sure if they allow people to go into the university grounds anymore, but if they allow, theres a breakwater area right after you enter that is great during sunsets and can be a quiet, romantic place at night. Also some peaceful and quiet beaches deeper inside—do be careful because waves can be rough. Theres really not a whole lot to do, but great for couples and families to get some fresh air from the Kaohsiung port. If you’re all the way here, make sure you ride the boat to Cijin nearby and visit Pier 2 and KW2 the...

So, l won't be boring. Even though if I am hungry, there always has tasty street food to eat. Finally, so as not to be disappoint to watch for nothing. It's really important to check the weather before going to Si Zih Bay. Hope all of you have a nice trip...
Read moreThere’s not a lot of serene places in the city, so this one’s already good if you just want to look at the sea, enjoy the sun, and just be out of the busy city without going too far. You can see the lighthouse of Cijin/Qijin Island from this area (see my uploaded photo) and there are also nice “shaved ice” shops around it if you want something cold in the summer. It’s better to go there at daytime because night can be very dark. Nighttime is only good if the sky is clear and you just want to see the stars. Took off stars because I didn’t see any shaded seats when we went there so it was very hot when it’s sunny. The seatings were all under the sun. Meaning, you won’t consider staying here. Might as well just take...
