This is the main ferry that takes passengers on foot, on bicycles and motor scooters and motorcycles across to Cijin Island. Nt$30 for adults and children above 12 years old. $15 for seniors, students. This ferry operates daily and except during very bad weather from early morning to 10pm and there is a ferry every few minutes going to and from Cijin island. The wait fot the next ferry is never more than a few minutes.
There are several ways to get here. By car or taxi directly to the Gushan Ferry station, by MRT orange line to Sizihwan station or by LRT light rail to Penglai Pier 2 (C13) station. From both MRT and LRT, getting to the ferry pier is about 15 minutes walk. The walk from Penglai Pier is more pleasant as you have the sea beside you but both are easy walks on flat surfaces.
The ferry ride is very short, barely 10 minutes in air conditioned comfort on the upper level but you can get the sea air and get some good views. Today (May 31), the flame trees on the Shoushan mountain were in full bloom and very beautiful. And always, one can get the best view of Kaohsiung’s tallest building 85 Sky Tower, from the ferry ride. There is also the version of Kaohsiung’s Amalfi which are colorful houses on Cijin Island which can be seen from the ferry (picture attached).
There is now another ferry service departing from Warehouse 2 in Pier 2 but it is more expensive and has fewer trips so trips can be far between specially on weekdays. Photo of...

Nothing is different, accept the black sand...
