Coco Beach is pretty expansive! It is bordered by rocky outcrops on each side. From the Police Officers Mess side is a kind of no mans land expanse that is accessible by trails leading to cliffs. Locals enjoy hanging out here because it is different from the sandy central area. Groups of friends, couples and touts frequent this area before sunset. Then there is the built up(haphazard) central area that everyone typically hangs out at. Dirty describes seasonal sea weed washing to shore! Yes, the proprietor can do a clean up but the public can also play there part! Then there is the Mishkaki and Cassava part of Coco frequented by locals and less so the TanzanianAsian Community nowadays. There is police presence at all times along Coco. You will be requested to get out of the water at 6pm. Take care to "hang" near lighted area! Enjoyment of any spot in the world depends on taking personal responsibility...

The beach is beautiful. There is lots available to eat and accessories. There is an interesting sea shell place. I prefer to find my own which is possible if you have time and are lucky. The water is warm. The beach is rocky depending on tide. I chilled in the shallows uneasy but Definitely bring along your beach shoes or buy from the locals who want to sell you these. they will sell you on it as there they can find you sea urchins that are present. Prices may vary on all services. They will also try to sell you a shaded place. I always feel someone wants to sell you something and wont be left alone to swim. there is transport available from the beach. There often is broken bottles around but they dont seem to be dangerous. overall a...
