Read moreThis is was a great discovery. This is an amazing green space in the middle of Bangkok’s concrete jungle. If you walk to middle of it, you can almost get away from the roar of the traffic. Go in the morning if want to find shade. The best lawns are located on the north side of the park, near the big lake. The signs says it is open until 22:00.
The park is huge. It is super clean and the great lawn is well kept by hard workers, middle aged Thai man and women.
If you want to run, it is busy on weekends with Thai’ exercise enthusiasts. At the north end of the park, there is a food and exercise clothing market on weekends. These are my highlights: 1: The butterfly garden: Although it was disappointing, since there were almost no butterflies, the main building has air conditioning. 2: The man who sells coconut water: He is located on the middle road, a few meters south of Bangkok Exercise Center, which is located in the park. He is friendly, the coconut water is delicious sweet and iced cold. He sells out of a truck and he said he is there 7 days a week, 7am to 7 pm. 3: Bathrooms: there are many and they are clean but the one located near the butterfly garden is the cleanest. I literally could have sat on the floor and be okay with it. A Thai woman is charge and she keeps it spotless. Tip: walk barefoot on the grass the relax and...
