In 1991, the cabinet had the resolution to establish Queen Sirikit Park, the park for celebrations on the Auspicious Occasion of Queen Sirikit’s 5th Cycle (60 years) Birthday anniversary, on the 12th August 1992. The cabinet assigned the Ministry of Transport to build this park in the area of the State Railway of Thailand. This area is located in the South of the golf course of the Railway. The construction budget came from the government, the State enterprises under the Ministry of Commerce, and the private sector. In parts of long way garden maintenance, the Foundation of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand will take care of this point. Queen Sirikit Park(3)is a Botanical Garden located exactly backside of Chatuchak Park, tourists or any visitors want to visit this area just walk through Chatuchak Park ( details depicted in paragraph Chatuchak Park(1)). Area zoned to be different plants species such as bamboo, lotus , herb etc.. Someone asked me the difference between “ Aboretum” and “ Botanical Garden “ , I can say that the different is the objective of management for what are you heading to, if you targeted to Botanical purpose, area will be zoned based on plants species such as group of medicinal plants, flowering(angiosperms) species, tolerant species, herbs species, the main point is knowledge and you will gain beautiful landscape by products. On the other hand, if you manage area for the beautiful scenery purpose you will gain knowledge by products. The same idea of managing area for “wildlife sanctuary “ and “ national park “. Targeting the wildlife you will have beautiful landscape and fertile forest because animals ‘ home are forests, on the other hand the purpose of natural park management is the beautiful landscape, animals will come with fertile forest...

It is close the Mo chit BTS station and the Chatuchak MRT station which literally opens into the park. An amazing expanse of greenery and peace amidst bustling traffic on one side, this park rarely gets attention of tourists but should. An extremely large park that will need many hours to fully explore, it has water bodies, flowering shrubs and trees and even open air gym and exercise equipment. One can witness groups exercising at the park accompanied by music. Keeping company to park users are birds like mynahs and pigeons and squirrels. Many plants are in flower during different seasons to keep the environs colourful through the year. Washroom facilities are provided through the park as aslo walking paths and roads. Gazebo like structures and other sheltered areas help protect oneself from sun and rain. Still known by its old name Chatuchak Park, this green lung of Bangkok deserves more attention from both local residents and tourists. It can be a good rest stop for those visiting the busy Chatuchak market. Refreshments are available just outside the park. It has numerous entry points though not all may...

A beautiful walk through nature! This park is located near BTS Sam Yot, but we had to walk through Chatuchak Park to get to this entrance. The park is beautifully curated and absolutely huge. There are different areas with different aesthetics. There are also different paths to walk on, there is the main path and also smaller paths along the water, and some smaller specialty gardens. The flowers are beautiful, and the water is calming. The lotus pond area is also tranquil and quiet. It was a little difficult to find the toilet, but thankfully there were guards around I could ask for directions. If you are a fan of the Thai GMMTV lakhon 23.5, this is where the swing shots are filmed. Have a fun mission looking for the spot! We crossed the waters like 8-10 times looking for the filming location (which has changed a little because the trees have been trimmed). Over all, a really beautiful place to spend a day. If you plan on staying long, I suggest you locate a toilet before walking around. At least you will know where it is, unlike me 😝😭
