Without doubt some of the best food we had in Bangkok. Yes you could eat for less at some of the street food stalls, bit you would not get the generous portion and/or quality present here. I think this is quite a new restaurant as is the adjoining mall. The staff however were very attentive and helpful. The menu itself consists of modern takes on traditional/classic Thai dishes and honestly I think I could have ordered anything and been happy. We ordered the Red duck curry with rice and salted egg, morning glory and chicken thigh curry with wet and crispy noodles. The care put into each dish and the flavours that followed were fantastic. Waylakin Cafe is located in Mixt Chatuchak (in the middle of the popular Chatuchak weekend market). Very conveniently located with air-conditioning and restrooms. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. She and the chef tried their best to communicate with us in English. We ordered rice with basil pork and rice with garlic pork. Both so good! Price is abit high though. Another reason two stars here were deducted is the male server's talking and customer service tone is "intimidating" and "rough". Not a friendly person at all. Hopefully he will improved...
