Kham Thiang Garden Market — Attraction in Chiang Mai Province

A huge market with many stores selling plants, flowers, pots and gardening related equipment.

Prices for similar plants may differ from store to store, so walk around and check them out.

They are generally also grouped eg the orchid shops tend to be in the same location etc. We visited on a Saturday and ordered some plants and the shops were able to hold the plants till Wednesday, the day before our flight home.

Another plus is that this garden market is immediately off the ring road, which eases traffic movement. There is also a large Lotus supermarket nearby.

If you are peckish, there is Panmai cafe for a pit stop. It is also next to the toilets.

There're many shops selling different types of trees, saplings and plants. You could spend half a day just walking around searching for suitable plants for your garden. There're also shops selling soil, pots, herbicide, fertilizers, seeds and gardening tools. The exact same things could be found in different shops with different prices, some were very expensive. I found a jusmine tree in the first shop for 180TBH each. After walking to the next 3 block, the same kind of jasmine tree was sold for 80TBH in another shop. There are so many different shops, it would take you all day just to see what is available for you to purchase and you would still not have been able to view everything.
