Big Buddha temple is located almost an hour away from the old town Phuket, the temple opens at 6:30 AM in the morning and closes at 6:30 PM in the evening. The route to the temple is quite scenic with majorly uphill road. You’ll find a lot of elephant in sanctuaries in between where you can make a pistol either while going or maybe while returning to feed the elephants.

Outfit: One should be wearing appropriate clothing, according to the temple regulations, only then the entrance is allowed or else you will have to buy a scarf or a pant from the temple before making an entrance to the temple. However, these regulations look like only imposed on the females and not the males as I could see a lot of men wandering around in quite short pants and sleeveless T-shirts, which would ideally be a beach wear. This seems as a biased behaviour towards the females. I have attached the pictures for the reference. Ladies, Please wear a full pant or maybe something which would cover your knee as well and the tops too cannot be off shoulder or sleeveless. You will need to cover it with a scarf.

Transportation details: The cab to the big Buddha temple can be a little expensive than the usual ones because it is a tourist place and would suggest to book cabs for the two way as the cab drivers do not accept through the applications and demand for extra money after even after booking it through the Applications like grab.

There is not much of walking or stairs while climbing to the Buddha temple. The view from the big Buddha temple is very scenic and the sunsets can get really beautiful depending on the weather of the day.

There is also a small golden colour Buddha Temple located on the left side behind the big Budha temple This also looks equally mesmerising into the eyes.

10 minutes Meditation can also be done on the left side under the tree with the help of the Buddhist priest present there.

There is public restroom washrooms available near the parking area. Be careful while you use the washroom as there are a lot of monkeys around even in...

The Big Buddha of Phuket stands as a monumental beacon of serenity and spirituality on the island. Nestled atop Nakkerd Hills, it offers not only a spiritual retreat but also panoramic views of Phuket Town, Kata, Karon beaches, and the Chalong Bay. The statue itself, towering at 45 meters, is awe-inspiring. Crafted with white Burmese marble, it shines under the Thai sun, radiating a sense of peace.

The journey to the Big Buddha is an experience in itself. As you ascend the hill, the bustling noise of Phuket slowly fades into a tranquil silence, occasionally broken by the soft tinkling of small bells and the fluttering of prayer flags. The atmosphere around the statue is serene and contemplative, inviting visitors to reflect or simply soak in the peaceful ambiance.

Culturally, the Big Buddha is significant as it symbolizes the faith of the local community. The site also features a smaller golden statue of Buddha, and the walls of the temple are adorned with narratives and teachings of Buddha, providing a deep insight into Buddhist philosophy.

For visitors, the site offers a chance to witness traditional Thai culture through various ceremonies and rituals performed here. The local monks are welcoming, often engaging with visitors and bestowing blessings.

Accessibility is well-managed with ample parking space and clear signage. Although there is no entry fee, donations are appreciated for the maintenance of this magnificent landmark.

In conclusion, the Big Buddha of Phuket is not just a tourist attraction but a journey into spiritual enlightenment. It’s a must-visit for anyone seeking peace, cultural insight, or simply a...

Don’t make these mistakes in Phuket 🇹🇭❤️ Things to do in beautiful Phuket Thailand - A Phuket travel guide from someone who also fell for the call of Patong Beach 😂🤪 Here are some of the best places to visit in Phuket: 🙅‍♀️ Avoid Patong Beach! It’s tacky and honestly off putting 🥥 Spend some time in beautiful Old Town Phuket, it is the best place for shopping and photo opportunities 🍲 Visit the streetfood and night markets in Old Town Phuket. There are lots to choose from, but the best is along Thalang Road on a Sunday 🙊 Eat at the stunning @threemonkeysrestaurant They have a delicious menu with Thai food and Indonesian food and really fun cocktails 🦩For a top secret spot in Phuket, head to @phuketflamingo It’s set on a super quiet beach and is perfect for a cute and chilled evening with friends 🙏 You must also visit the Big Buddha in Phuket.
