We visited the “Yoga Rooftop” studio in Phuket, Thailand, eager to attend their “Beach Yoga” class scheduled for 5:30 pm. The website instructed us to arrive 15 minutes early at the address provided for “CC,” which we did—arriving 20 minutes early. After snapping a few photos outside the location, we walked in, only to be told that the group had already left for the beach. The staff on-site seemed confused about the beach location and eventually provided a Google Maps pin using my phone. We left immediately, drove to the location indicated on the map, parked, and searched the beach but found no one.
The website stated that advance payment wasn’t necessary, so we planned to pay in Thai Baht upon arrival, which seemed reasonable at the time. However, the lack of clear communication and incorrect or contradictory information completely derailed the experience. While we later discovered that once you click on the class details there’s a note to arrive at 5 pm, this information was buried and not clearly reflected in the primary instructions.
We drove from Patong Beach on our scooter and carefully planned our day around this class, only to be met with poor coordination and misinformation. The studio staff had no contingency in place for people arriving at the listed time or location, as instructed on their website.
It’s unfortunate because the studio itself looked beautiful, and this could have been an incredible experience. However, the failure to provide accurate and consistent details made the whole situation disappointing. I’ve also noticed other reviews highlighting the same issue, and it’s clear this feedback has not been addressed.
This review will remain as is—a one-star rating—as we expect the studio to acknowledge this issue, comments on this post, and updates their website to ensure accurate information for future visitors. Accountability matters, and this is an opportunity for...
Read moreGreat location for a rooftop yoga session and resort seems lovely too. However the sunset yoga class we attended was lacking and my partner (he is a yoga instructor) in particular was quite unhappy with our class and felt we should leave a review. The instructor didn’t cue us or really seem to offer any efficient assistance or instruction to people who were clearly beginners. My partner felt it was unsafe and at the time wanted to speak with someone about it but didn’t end up doing so. Would be more helpful to do that but I didn’t wish to offend anyone at the time.
It wasn’t an easy class I believe as there was one sick girl and someone’s kid who interrupted us a few times (maybe instructor was thrown off by this), but either way that was...
Read moreI normally don't write reviews for yoga classes but I felt the need to do so for this one. The teacher did not adapt the class tho the level of the students. Almost just beginners, but we did a lot of advanced poses like headstand, crow, etc. A student next to me was trying multiple times to do headstand, I was afraid that she would hurt herself so I assisted her. I think its quite dangerous to put such poses into an open class. You can, but then they really have to be explained properly but they weren't. Of course you could skip them, but then you would miss out on 80 percent class. Almost no variations were given. The vibe didn't feel supportive either, I feel like the teacher mainly applauded the ones that could do the hard poses....
