We will start with the good things, the restaurant and bar staff are a very friendly bunch even if they are not the most efficient, the food can be good but be sure to ask for brown toast.| Now the not so good, reception very businesslike, in other words inflexible, no credit cards, only cash, where is nearest ATM, five minutes away, can you let the baby and two year old into the room while I walk up to get your money, No , 36 degrees so sit in car with aircon running while I walk as it would take twice as long to drive.|Rooms are basic and need update but adequate if advertised prices are available, but they aren’t, room not cleaned in the three days there.|Reception closes at eight and they tell you bluntly that any problem won’t be attended to until the next day.|Pools are clean but no shade, far too exposed in the day.|Not a great deal of parking unless you are on a scooter.|Drink prices can get a little over the top, iced coffee and such approximately four times street prices, beer only about double and cocktails just the usual overpriced.|Never try to pay at the reception, always book through an agency as they will try for every cent.|Summing up , poor value for money, great view at sunset, little sand but lots of rock, some nice staff, some just businesslike.|This regrettably is my first negative review, sorry but the outcome is could...
Read moreReally nice good sized bungalows that takes up to three persons. The beds are good and the pillows are not too hard.||Nice pool area with sun beds facing the ocean and next to the restaurant and bar. There is another pool area in the back as well, but we haven’t been there.||There are a lot of rocks in the ocean just in front of the hotel. This makes it impossible to swim at low tide but at high tide it’s ok and on the positive note the rocks provide hideouts for small fish so there’s a lot to see with snorkel and mask. ||The restaurant serves nice food both local and international and the waiters are sweet and helpful. ||The Liberty 420 bar does all sorts of cocktails and beers and the bartender is great. ||And now the negatives:|They have this really weird system for getting your room cleaned. They only do it every other day and you have to leave your key at a basket in the reception to indicate you want it done. The reception doesn’t open until 8 am so if you’re going on an early trip it’s not possible to leave your key. Personally I don’t care about having my sheets and towels changed every other day but I certainly care about having my toilet basket emptied EVERY day. We’re here now on day four and I had to change it myself yesterday since no one’s been inside our room besides ourselves since...
Read moreMy partner and I booked this place in a rush as we were leaving from Krabi to Koh Lanta that morning. We booked New Beach as we had friends who stayed next door at Blue Andaman and liked the location, however Lanta New Beach was cheaper at the time and looked just as good. We ended up loving this accommodation and thought it was a little gem, we stayed for 4 days and could have stayed longer.|Pros:|-great location, hotel is on the beach! |-2 swimming pools to choose from.|-restaurant and bar attached, serving food and drink all day with a beautiful view of the beach.|- Staff were all very friendly and hospitable. |- Guy next to the reception who we bought tickets to the ferry from and scooter from was reasonable, friendly and very helpful. |-Little restaurant called Danny’s 2 minutes away, lovely food and service at a great price! |- restaurant about 10 minutes away called the 3 sisters, recommend that too. |-Hire a scooter or hop on a bus and explore the island, Koh Lanta Old Town is quaint.|-great location only about a 15 minute drive from the ferry port at Saladan. |-Rooms clean and flowers were left on our bed and in the bathroom upon arrival which was a lovely touch.||Overall, great location, great accommodation and...
