Their nurses are poorly trained. One nurse in rabies room never changes her gloves or sanitizes her hands. Another one changed her gloves and sanitized them, but she did intradermal rabies injection incorrectly. There is an instruction on WHO website, there should blebs. But after my injections, there were no blebs. She even shook the vaccine bottle while getting it out which is forbidden. In general, the place is unhygienic. They use the same stand for new and used syringes, so when they put a needle back into its cover cup, she touches this stand with that contaminated needle. I wonder if hepatitis C can be spread like that.
Furthermore, because they did injections incorrectly, I had to make an expensive rabies antibodies test for 5.000 baht. However, since I left Thailand three weeks ago, I have not received any results to my email, and I cannot contact them in any way.
I finally got the result after almost three weeks, but it was stressful. The result was ready on December 24th, but I only received it on January 6th, so if I had low levels of antibodies, I would miss the booster time. They’re so...
Read moreI think cheapest vaccinations in Thailand and they must have most experience because there is around 50 people daily queueing up there for vaccinations only. There is queue ticket system, they start taking people in at 1PM, but you can take your number anytime before, I went there around 12 and had number 18. They called me for registration around 5 minutes after 1PM and I was talking to a doctor after 10 minutes. Doctors can speak perfect English, some staff too. I was out in less than an hour, which is similar to private hospital which I did for previous doses. I went there for 4th and 5th rabies vaccinations , 350b for a dose including DR consultations and injection. They have really small car parking, so it's better to come by public transport or motorbike. It's a short walk from MRT station. There is no AC in the waiting area.
People do look at you a little bit funny, because it's 99% Thais going there, but if you are considering coming here, you are probably used to it :) There is a cool snake park in the same building if you need to kill some time...
Read moreI was expecting a tacky touristy place in the Snake Farm it was not that! Beautifully lush and well maintained area with a variety of snakes in habitat like enclosures. A good number of the snakes were moving around and watched as a cobra moved around and flared its hood. There are clean toilets.
The museum on the 2nd floor is well curated and fascinating. Room for it to grow as it can.
And the venom extracting demonstration at 11:00 AM (M-F) blew my mind! Watching these young men handle cobras and extract their venom was crazy and fascinating! Very well worth the 200 baht...
