Monster Fishing Park Phuket — Attraction in Rawai

It's a lovely small secluded place with great staff and a friendly owner. Shaded, with a fan and a fishing guide who helps both with baiting up and casting to those hard to reach places.

Caught 5 fish in. Morning session, all 20lbs and up with a carp and a redtail catfish on a double header in the last 5 mins. Landed both thanks to a lot of help! Carp, in my eyes, was 40 lbs plus at least, and I'm sticking to that!

Didn't get the alligator gar or aprimama but that's just a great excuse to come back which I certainly will next time I'm over in Phuket. it is certainly called monster fishing for a reason, the fish are huge here.

We had booked a full day of fishing at the Monster Fishing Park, and it was so good we wanted to book another day. Unfortunately for us, they were fully booked. But the owner was so kind and opened up for a night fishing spot last night. It was nothing short of amazing. We saw some absolute giants! We caught a 55-60kg Mekong Catfish, Red Tails, a Chao Phraya Catfish and hooked an Arapaima (didn’t manage to reel this one in as he shook the hook but was amazing to see!) Sebastian and his team were professional, friendly and welcoming. They made us feel very comfortable. I'm not a very good fisherman myself but they made every effort to ensure we get bites, and even though it was slow season with rain I still managed to land 2 fishes in our half day slot. Lost some because I wasn't attentive enough, but that's how fishing is. Kudos to the amount of care given to the fishes after they were caught, they were even given a mini spa to ensure recovery before being released. Toilet was immaculate!
