Madre Pasta Box — Restaurant in Rawai

Would have been very easy for me to give this place 5 stars across the board, but wanted to give an honest review to reduce the chance of people coming and later leaving negative comments.

This is a small restaurant a little of the beaten path, with modest decor and surroundings so had to score lower on atmosphere.

That being said, if you are coming with friends who you get along with you bring your own atmosphere, and the food & drink served here will do nothing but support that.

The food (as many have said previously) is second to none. So good in fact, I tried two smaller plates so I could try more.

Highly recommend the lamb and rosemary ravioli, and the purple gnocchi & Italian sausage with truffle. Both were to die for,😍 and possibly the best Italian meal I've tasted.

I ordered 2 different types of pasta (bolognese and pesto with meatballs) via Food Panda Delivery, I struggled a bit to find the restaurant there, because it has a little different name on the app - "Pasta To Go", 250 THB for each one.

The portions were huge, 1 portion is enough for 2 meals, actually (I took photos after eating a half, was too hungry to think about the photos when I got the order).

Bolognese was really good, one thing to mention is - too much garlic as to my taste. But I was disappointed with pesto sauce. Don't get me wrong - it was creamy and rich, but it tastes so different from a regular typical pesto we are used to. I don't really know why, if it is because of the local garlic which has another flavour or some herbs other that basil were added. I really didn't feel the taste of basil, but some other herbs.

Still I recommend this place for sure (the quality of ingredients is great) and will come/order the delivery again to try...

We have read reviews and so many have passed this smaller restaraunt as its not crowded. We understand as usually where more people are dining the better the quantity and quality for the price. We are like that but my gosh this food is absolutely delicious for the price. Locally owned and even young daughter brings menu. Love that teaching a great work ethic.
