⛩️Beautiful Photo Spot for Relaxing in Regent's Park⛩️

I discovered this beautiful spot quite by accident after completing my tour at the Sherlock Holmes Museum. It was a cold, wet, wintry day, and the little island garden wasn't even in bloom for the most part. However, there's something unmistakably peaceful about this quiet hideaway, just across a bridge from the main Regent's Park trail.

It's a lovely spot for getting memorable photos, especially when shot from the side of the bridge. There's a waterfall, a statue of a bird of prey in flight, a stone lantern, and plenty of other wonders. Canadian Geese like to swim by the spot, too.

If you're planning to spend a day in Baker Street--either to visit the London Zoo, Sherlock Holmes Museum, or just walk Regent's Park, the Japanese Garden Island makes a great in-between or on-the-way stop. My photos don't really do it justice. I'm sure it's even lovelier in spring when the flowers and plants...

A lovely garden , particularly in Spring & Summer ; maybe not so much so in the Wimter months but even so it is always an area I make for at any time I am in Regents Park. Generally tranquil & always leave feeeling good. The small lake hosts various ducks , swans on occasion & often a heron. You can hear & see reed warblers singing away in the reed bed by the long wooden bridge at one end. The small island is accessed by a little wooden bridge draped in a beautiful Wisteria. There are some very attractive shrubs & trees on the island but I feel there is some room for improvement to be made in the general upkeep. Opposite the island another wooden bridge crosses the water between an impressive cacade & the lake. Some really lovely plants around the cascade - giant Gunneras , Primulas , Ferns & big clumps of...

One of the best things about London is discovering hidden gems. Both the waterfall and the Japanese garden are located in the Queen Mary's Gardens (in Regent's Park inner circle), most famous for its 12,000 roses. Simply enter enter via the Jubilee Gate and take the first path right and you should be able to find both fairly easily. This garden, which is accessed by a picturesque bow bridge, is full of beautiful flowers and features winding paths that lead you past stone lanterns and bubbling streams. There are vibrant red Japanese maple trees, sleepy willows, wisteria and a variety of aquatic plants, while a lovely waterfall flows down the hill, providing a stunning backdrop to the rest of the garden.
