I had the opportunity to visit this Chinese temple in Kuching recently, and I was absolutely amazed by the beauty and craftsmanship on display. The intricate carvings and colorful decorations were simply breathtaking, and I could feel the history and cultural significance of the temple with every step I took. It was truly a humbling and enlightening experience to be able to learn more about the customs and traditions of the Chinese community in Sarawak, and I feel grateful to have had the chance to witness such a stunning display of art and spirituality. If you ever have the chance to visit Kuching, I highly recommend taking some time to explore this incredible temple for yourself

My first time stepping into Tua Pek Kong after living in Kuching for 30 years. Beautifully designed & very well maintained temple in the heart of Kuching. Used to see the procession but never set foot into this temple. This temple also has a stage for singing performances mostly in Chinese and also Malay songs. Malay song in the video sung by a Chinese titled "Racun dan Madu" Pros - Beautiful architecture of Chinese heritage - Very well maintained temple - Clean - Located in the city centre of Kuching - Rich in culture and heritage - Able to scan QR code for further info on the temple's history Cons - Nil Must visit if you're visiting Kuching 👍👍🏻

A temple located in the center of Kuching and facing the Waterfront area. The last time I visited this temple was in early 2023, the temple building looks very beautiful and looks like it has just been painted, you can see the carvings in the shape of a dragon that surrounds the temple. I also saw that there were several lion dance scenes in the temple, it seemed that the event was to welcome the Chinese New Year. Very beautiful!

Peaceful I mind... Places of Worship believed to had been in existence before 1839 as its history can be traced back to 1843 with renovations made in 1856, 1863 and 1880. Was been told that the temple survived the 1884 Great Fire of Kuching and later the Japanese invasion during World War ll where its structure remained intact despite heavy damage to town buildings nearby due to bombing.

Was surprised to learn that it is one of the oldest temple in Kuching. It was very clean & well maintained. Situated high up from the road, you won't missed it. You can easily see it from the Chinese Heritage Museum (exactly opposite it) or as you were strolling along the Kuching Waterfront or as you were shopping around the old town shopping lots.

Peaceful temple which offers a serene environment in a busy city. The caretakers ate very helpful. A must visit for tourists. Request the traditional incense, candles and paper for the offering from the caretaker for a small fee. Lighting the pineapple candle is a sumbol for good luck.
