Semi open air like most coffee shops. Surprising amount of persistent flies despite the good ventilation. Not too confident on the hygiene rating on this one...

Nice to see a place so generous with condiments in the form of chopped garlic, chilli, and huge bottles of dark and light soy sauce.

Good repertoire of selection and style of preparation of seafood. Food arrived fast.

Deep fried small fish we had as starter was really nice - younger/smaller fish should have been used, some of us cant chew the bones.

The amount of sugar was just right in the omelette, for the flavour and added caramelisation effect; as was the trace amount of chive added - wishing we ordered it with some clams.

Steamed fish in assam sauce was lovely - the cutlets were prepared almost boneless, but sauce could be slightly stronger.

Midin was done to perfection, and using very choice young shoots, but could use more garlic and abit more starch in the sauce.

Prawn in steamed egg pudding wasnt fresh. Not enough egg pudding.

Black pepper venison was too salty - would have prefered it less salty and less starch in the gravy as it just clings and congeals to the meat; was not cut correctly against the grain of the flesh, or consistently in size.

Cangkung manis slightly overcooked and abit dry.

Rice does seem consistent, seemed like different batch of rice was mixed, but negligible so. We deserve better quality grain for the money we are paying.

If they can fix everything mentioned here, the pricing is acceptable, and 5 stars. However I feel like we overpaid 25% for what we received. Only 3 stars, better...

Had a great dinner here yesterday with my clients upstairs in the air-conditioned area.

Tips: If you're coming around 7:00-8:30pm, make sure to book in advance because it gets crowded during peak hours and it is hard to find parking. I ordered the fish curry and masak asam (you can pick your fish downstairs), crispy fried ikan gonjeng, oyster pancakes, midin belacan, manicai, sea cucumber soup, and crab and prawns.

A bit of a wait for our foods to be served as the upstairs level was almost full with a company having their dinner there. The waiters, especially the guy with glasses, were really attentive to our request, provided excellent service and our client enjoyed the delightful dinner. Restaurant is clean and neat. Toilet cleanliness is above average. Steam asam fish. We chose ikan muncong/kurau fillet. Light simple asam broth not spicy. Not a fan compared to the traditional asam pedas cooking which the taste is more rich and complex. Peeled nestum prawn no complain. Ikan gonjeng goreng. Crispy fried. Blended chilli sauce for it not given. Must request. Give it a try. Pricewise is just ok ok. Not cheap not expensive. Ordered small for 4 person. 6 person eat. Rm253 The rest of our order was just basic menu like lemon chicken, egg manichai, midin belacan no complaint.
