First of all, I wanted to say that everyone should definitely go to this museum. People coming from abroad, during your trip to Istanbul, you definitely have a travel list that includes historical squares with historical monuments, but Rahmi Koç Museum is usually overlooked. One of the most important things that makes this museum a museum is that you will be able to find every piece of modern history you can think of in the form of a collection here. You will be able to see the process of cars from past to present, you will be able to see all kinds of classic cars, you will be able to see classic motorcycles, you will be able to see sailboats, sea boats, you will be able to see models of ships, something you have never seen in the collection, old musical instruments and many more things. I have only one piece of advice for you, and that is to devote one day to this museum, there is an inventory that you can browse from morning to evening. You will take lots of photos, read the articles and listen to the works. If you do not do this, you will not be able to enjoy this museum. I wanted to put a few car photos I took here. I hope everyone who visits will have fun.

I recently visited the Rahmi M. Koç Museum in Istanbul, and I was truly impressed! This place is a paradise for lovers of technology, history, and art. The museum is located in a beautiful historic building on the shores of the Golden Horn, which adds a unique charm to the experience. The collection is incredibly diverse: vintage cars, airplanes, ships, locomotives, and numerous fascinating exhibits related to science and industry. I especially enjoyed the sections dedicated to classic cars and maritime history. Everything is presented with great attention to detail, and each exhibit is accompanied by insightful information. A special highlight is the interactive areas, which are perfect for both adults and children. You don’t just observe history here—you can actively engage with it. The on-site café was also a pleasant surprise, offering delicious food with a fantastic view. The Rahmi M. Koç Museum is a place you’ll want to visit again. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an interesting and educational experience in Istanbul!

A must visit museum in Istanbul that is great for the whole family. It is next to the Golden Horn so gives amazing views at water level, has a very good restaurant and the museum itself never ceases to surprise me with new things despite having gone there several times. Perfect for kids as they will find boats, trains, cars, airplanes and every other possible mode of transportation that has ever existed in there. This is a great place to learn about the Industrial Revolution, about the automotive industry, about how olive oil used to be made, and just so much more. One review really does not do it justice, you have to go there and enjoy it. It can be busy on weekends but even then it is big that it never feels cramped. The pictures I uploaded are from the side of the museum that are located across the street from the main building as it is often forgotten by visitors and I only discovered it existed a few months ago!

Very interesting and curiously organized museum packed with various man-made objects from different historical stages, basically a museum of human history as seen through material world. It's announced as museum of industry, communication and transport, but we preferred to call it "the museum of everything". Especially impressed by collections of REAL cars (from early steam-engine ones to glossy American 60's classics), as well as motorbikes, bicycles, kids trolleys and other moving devices wittily accompanied by various atmospheric stuff like old posters or vitrines with ladies vintage hats. Life-size tram and railway carriages you came walk in to are also impressive. Don't miss to have a cup of Turkish tea (for 1TL !!!) in a cute "retro street cafe" in the beginning of the car gallery. Highly recommend to reserve several hours for this place. We had only 2 hours before closing time and haven't seen a half of it.

After seeing the Koc Museum in Ankara I had an idea of what to expect in the Istanbul Museum. The Istanbul museum is just as much a motley collection of cars, some planes, boats (even a submarine!) and trains among other things. It's a great place to bring kids, especially if the outdoor steam train is operating (it wasn't when we were there). The museum will appeal to grown ups who enjoy cars or simply nostalgia. Many of the items will bring back long repressed childhood memories! The museum is large. Though mostly indoors there is a significant portion outside too. It can get confusing navigating the indoor sections as I couldn't figure out a logical walking path, despite the exhibition rooms being numbered. Nonetheless, the museum is worth the TRY eighteen (18 Liras) entry fee. It's not easy to reach by public transport though you can take a taxi from Karakoy pier for about 20 Liras.

- 1867 - Sultan Abdülaziz’in Saltanat Vagonu - 1937 - Mototren La Littorina - Raylar üzerinde lokomotife ihtiyaç duymadan İtalyan mototreni. - 1933 - Model Buick 66C - 1935 - Royal Enfield Silah gibi üretilmiş” denilen 2. Dünya savaşı motosikleti. - 1910 - G10 Lokomotif - 76 ton ağırlığında olan lokomotif - 1962 - Riva Aquarama - Teknelerin Ferrari'si - 1943 - De Havilland Vampire FB Mk 6 - 2. Dünya savaşı jet uçağı. - 1965 - Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III - 1900 - Aultman & Taylor Buharlı Traktör - Zamanın dev araçları. - 1910 - Ford Model T - Endüstriyel devrimi başlatan araç. - 1885 - Benz Patent-Motorwagen - İlk otomobil. - 1943 - B-24 Liberator "Hadley's Harem” - 2.
