Centenary Park Kampala, located in the heart of the capital city, is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. It’s a spacious, well-maintained park that offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
One afternoon, I visited the park with some friends. We were greeted by the lush green trees that shaded the pathways and benches. The sound of the water fountain in the center of the park was soothing, and it was surrounded by colorful flowers and greenery though stopped working recently .
We walked around the park, taking in the sights and sounds of the different activities happening around us. We found a quiet spot near the pond and sat down on a bench as we were taking soda. The peaceful atmosphere was interrupted by the sound of a live band playing music near the entrance of the park.
We decided to check out the band, and as we walked towards them, we passed by vendors selling food and drinks. The aroma of roasted corn, plantains, and barbecued chicken filled the air. We grabbed a snack and sat down to listen to the music. The band was amazing, playing a mix of local and international music. People of all ages were dancing and singing along, and the energy was contagious.
After the music, we continued our walk around the park, stopping to take photos and a chat. It was such a fun experience, and it reminded us of the simple joys of life.
