I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Kampala Serena Hotel during my visit to Uganda in November 2022, and I can say that the experience was quite impressive overall, meriting a solid 4-star rating.

From the moment my journey began, I felt well cared for. I had arranged for a premium airport arrival transfer (Toyota Landcruiser), and the pick-up process worked without a hitch. Upon arrival at the hotel, the check-in process was efficient and welcoming.

The hotel grounds are expansive and beautifully maintained. The eye-catching gardens and pools add to the resort's serene atmosphere and provide a lovely backdrop to your stay. It is indeed a large property, an oasis in the heart of the city.

The executive suite was spacious, but it could benefit from a refresh. The furniture showed noticeable wear and tear, with several marks and spots that detracted from the overall ambiance. I also encountered a cleanliness issue; however, the hotel management handled it promptly and professionally. They apologized sincerely, providing some delightful goodies in the room and a complimentary late check-out as a kind gesture of goodwill.

In a surprise gesture, the management also acknowledged my birthday with a gifted cake, adding a special touch to my celebration.

The hotel's gym facilities are extensive, catering to every fitness enthusiast's needs, while the spa offered a professional service that was a wonderful retreat. The massage was superb, adding to the relaxing environment of my stay.

The dining options available at the hotel are plentiful and satisfying, with each restaurant offering its unique charm.

However, the stay was not without its flaws. During check-out, there was a misunderstanding regarding the charges for the pre-paid arrival transfer, which caused an unnecessary delay and inconvenience. Thankfully, it was eventually resolved, but it highlighted the need for more consistency in the hotel's services.

In conclusion, the Kampala Serena Hotel delivers a beautiful setting with generally high-quality services, but there is room for improvement. A refurbishment of the rooms and enhanced consistency in services would make a world of difference. Despite the minor hiccups, I would still recommend this hotel for those looking for a tranquil retreat in the bustling...

My stay at Serena Hotel exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the experience was seamless. As I walked through the doors, I was greeted warmly by the concierge, who offered me a refreshing welcome drink—a gesture that immediately set the tone for the level of service I was about to experience.

The room was impeccable. It was not only luxurious but also had a beautiful blend of modern design and local culture. The large windows opened up to a spectacular view of the surrounding gardens, offering a sense of calm and relaxation. The bed was like a cloud, and every detail in the room seemed carefully thought out—from the fresh flowers on the table to the welcome note from the hotel manager.

One of the highlights of my stay was the dining experience. The breakfast buffet was a feast of fresh fruits, pastries, and local delicacies. I also dined at one of their signature restaurants, where the food was world-class. The chef even came out to check on the guests, which made it feel even more personal. Every meal felt like a special event, with the service being impeccable and the ambiance perfect.

The spa was a revelation. After a long day of sightseeing, I treated myself to a massage, which was heavenly. The serene environment of the spa, the skilled therapists, and the attention to detail made it one of the best spa experiences I’ve ever had.

What truly stood out, however, was the service. Every member of the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there and to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. They anticipated my needs without being intrusive, always offering help with a smile. I felt like a VIP from start to finish.

Lastly, the hotel's attention to sustainability and cultural preservation impressed me. They had initiatives to support local artisans, and there were eco-friendly touches throughout the property. I even attended a cultural night, where local musicians performed traditional music—an experience that made me feel connected to the local culture in a...

Authentic Ugandan Coffee, the perfect Sip at Ssese Patisserie, Kampala Serena! When you crave true Ugandan flavor, one name rises above—the coffee at Ssese Patisserie, Kampala Serena. It’s not just a cup; it’s a passport to the lush hills, the bustling markets, and the patient hands that harvest every bean. Joyce is a master behind the espresso wand—one of the best baristas Uganda has to offer in my view. Her artistry brings out depth, brightness, and a warmth that lingers long after the cup is empty. Test her coffee, and you’ll understand why there’s no looking back. Smooth, vibrant, and unforgettable—each sip tells a story of tradition, and superb craft. If you’re visiting Uganda, make it a point to swing by Ssese Patisserie at Kampala Serena and let Joyce transform your coffee moment. Trust me, you’ll be hooked.

A brilliant experience, as always, from professional welcome and sanitizing at the main entrance to the smart receptionist in the hotel lobby. New processes are in place to protect all customers and staff: waiting staff and chefs wear facemasks (properly, unlike most establishments) and our table was 'zapped' by a blue light sabre (!) to remove any lingering virus after we vacated our table. For buffet service, we were asked to put on a disposable plastic glove (in order to serve ourselves using shared cutlery). It worked well but I do hate how much extra waste COVID-19 is creating! I stayed for the buffet lunch. Gorgeous grilled Nile Perch! Highly recommended.
