Although architecturally and conceptually this place is absolutely beautiful and stunning, there are some major issues tarnishing the spirituality and beauty of this place. Staff and security need better training and guidance on dealing with visitors and tourists, and on what behavior or etiquette is allowed where. In the church, two christian visitors who entered in amazement and went to the front of the church alter to kneel and pray were interrupted by security telling them to go to the back. They were not touching anything and there was no line or restrictive rope implying that area was not for people to cross. If that area was off limits it should have been made clear through rope/clear instructions not a rude intrusive security guard interrupting someone’s prayer. In the synagogue, I asked if I could sit at the bench (I wanted to sit and observe the architecture) and before I could finish my sentence to the security I got an aggressive NO! from him so I just walked out puzzled at the behavior. Women are allowed to attend and sit in synagogues so I didn’t understand the issue, and again if it isn’t allowed it should be made CLEAR with instructions written or restrictive rope, not rude security guards. I headed to the mosque and the security told me I’m not allowed to enter because they WILL start praying soon. Keep in mind my shoes are off, my sheila and abaya are on. So again… very vague rules and guidelines that have no basis because technically I am allowed to go inside by religious standards so I went in the women’s side. The gallery/exhibition to the place needs complete reconstruction and management because it is a pitch black series of rooms with light shined in the most random way (mind you, there is text that is not lit so you can’t even read anything in there).
