An exceptional, world-class park that breaks away from the usual park design in Abu Dhabi as it brings ecology to the front of their design criteria.

The park is a small densely planted rectangle which is cut through corridors that widen up at intersections to open space for sitting, playgrounds, sport equipment, etc.

The densely planted areas (softscape) have round stone paths meandering through the vegetation, with some of these round stones being higher and forming stools and tables. These are contemplating and resting areas, well within the vegetation, and freshest place to be. The vegetation chosen was strictly limited to autochthonous plants, and were laid out in a dense, full forest fashion (ground cover, bushes, trees and predominant trees). Replicating a natural local landscape maximizes the preservation of local fauna and reduces the need of water consumption (to 40% of the average park in the region).

The hardscapes have a more urban and defined program, from tennis courts (needs reserving in advance), outdoor gym, etc. The way the hardscape corridors and softscape islands play with each other in terms of form and level form a new topography, secluded from the busy streets outside and proposing a sequence of rooms that allow several ambiences that open up as one walks through the park.

There are some limitations on the amount of users at one time and direction of paths to minimize contact. The signs seem temporary and hopefully they will go away once covid rules do too. Instead these signs should be replaced by plaques with the name of the species, adding a pedagogical layer to it.

The hardscape is...

Al Fay Park on Al Reem Island is a well-designed, family-friendly park that enhances the quality of life for its residents. Its combination of natural beauty, recreational facilities, and community activities makes it a valuable addition to the urban landscape of Abu Dhabi. Whether you’re looking for a place to relax, exercise, or socialize, Al Fay Park offers something for everyone.

Al Fay Park on Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi is a popular community park that offers residents and visitors a green, peaceful space to relax and unwind. Here’s a review highlighting its key features:

Location and Accessibility Al Fay Park is situated in the heart of Al Reem Island, a prime residential area known for its modern developments and waterfront views. The park is easily accessible by car, with ample parking spaces available nearby. Its location makes it a convenient spot for families and individuals living in the surrounding residential complexes.

There are designated play areas for children with safe, modern play equipment. These areas are shaded, ensuring that kids can enjoy the facilities comfortably even during hotter parts of the day.

For adults, the park offers outdoor fitness equipment, encouraging an active lifestyle. Jogging and walking paths are also popular among residents who visit the park for their daily exercise.

The park has several benches and picnic spots, making it an ideal location for family outings. The open grassy areas are perfect for laying down a blanket and enjoying a meal in...

It's my first time in Al Fay park which is situated in Reem Island. since it's in Abu Dhabi city you can easilly drive wihin few minutes, take taxi or you can use public busses. Entry was free and it's place to have picnic or do your gym or exercise free of cost. Three tower building facing to Al Fay park is fascinating. I like tha park infrastructure and little jungle type nature theme. There is water fountain which kids surely will like it. I believe in night time this park looks wonderful with lighting. I have noted exercice area and open gym area such as volleyball ground, basketball area, table tennis, gym area and much more. For family to have picnic and enjoy foods and chit chat there are concrete tables and chairs.

Also, there is water to drink and there is something special which I couldn't noted well. When leaving the park I honestly thought how specially non national like us should thank to Abu Dhabi UAE for creating such a place to upgrade our life irrespective from who we are. Equally all can have leasure time, have gym access for free. You really have to try may be with kids.

I had few photos but not to post here coz I enjoy the time there rather than taking vlogs. But for illustrations purposes I'm sharing my...
