Decided that it was an appropriate day to take my daughter to visit the Butterfly Park in Sharjah. The weather was pleasant and a perfect outing idea.
Arrived around 11 am. on a Sunday morning and very few visitors. I expected it to be busier but to our surprise there were very few people.
When you enter the park, there is a big map guiding you in all directions, mentioning the highlights and landmarks. We decided to head straight towards the park area with butterflies.
Upon entering, my daughter met a lot of beautifully colored butterflies, but her favorites were 'Sticky' because he stayed with her and followed her around while she walked. Another was 'Honey-bee' as it was yellow and it also liked her. Lastly, 'Sloth'. My daughter simply thought Sloth was a nice name.
So it was a relatively small enclosure, but it had hundreds of little and bigger butterflies all over. They would fly around us and often land on us. The carers would lay orange slices around for the butterflies to nibble on, and while the butterflies licked up the nectar, we were able to pick them up. All in all, it was a nice experience.
There was a coffee shop there, but we didn't try it.
We walked around the park for around an hour, exploring nature and beautiful trees and vegetation. We liked the bench swing on the right side of the island, which had a beautiful view of the water, sky, and skyline buildings.
It had a fun area for kids in the center of the island, which was like a large jungle gym. My daughter managed to complete the course and was quite happy with herself. It was strong and well built. No safety issues at all.
I would highly recommend this place if you enjoy nature and just want a...
Read moreEntry for here is for people who have taken the ticket along with butterfly garden visit included in that, not for the general entry tickets. Both are different. This is like a small covered area where you can see different butterflies flying around, you can see them, take them in hand, click pictures and they even have a small incubator like thing where they are keeping this cocoon and butterfly's are being bought to life. There are guides in this place who will assist you if you need hold a butterfly or touch one , but I felt like it is a bit congested place and if the people are more or if there is a crowd it becomes more congested and you will feel poor for the butterflies also coz kids will be trying to catch them, get hold of one. It is definitely a good experience but could have been on a bigger space, and I felt it was hot inside, not sure why or may is it a controlled temperature for the butterflies, not...
Read moreBeen wanting to visit this place for a long time and finally did so last week.
It was a very nice concept but the place was so small and very crowded that time. Appreciated the fact that the staff there did their best to control the crowd.
Anyway, our short visit was still great as we saw some butterflies fluttering around and managed to take some photos.
Was hot when we got inside so we rushed to get out after taking photos. Checked out the rest of Al Noor Island and we enjoyed the rest of our stay.
Place is well maintained I’d say. Very good and educational for kiddos and adults alike. Prams are left by the door. I don’t think the inside is accessible...
