Beautiful tranquil place with secluded gardens and a large pond with ducks, swans and other birds. Numerous benches placed around the loch where you can sit and enjoy the tranquility and the views of the garden.
The place is mostly recommend to those who look for a place to meditate or read a book while listening to the sound of the nature. Large shrubs, bushes, trees and rhododendrons surround the place together with beautiful fragranced flowers. Bird lovers can observe a variety of birds that are attracted to the garden by numerous bird feeders placed in the trees around the garden. There is a car parking just across the entrance to Gardens and the place is also accessible and welcome wheelchair users...
Read moreThis is most definitely one of Aberdeen’s hidden gems. Johnston Gardens is absolutely stunning and while it may be on the smaller scale, has so much to offer. I loved seeing how much wildlife was around - with ducklings, moorhens, robins, blackbirds, and every other bird we spotted. The plants, trees and flowers are also in full bloom just now making it the perfect sanctuary to visit. I love taking a trip here as there are so many different wee bits to it. If you live in Aberdeen and haven’t been here, it’s a must. Tourists will also love it and it’s just around the corner from the Gordon Highlanders...
Read moreCalled in by chance and glad we did. Not a big place but has a free carpark just over the road from the entrance. Having entered the park you can easily make a relaxing circular walk, passing over one of the islands in the central pool.
The park had a children's play area being constructed in its top left corner at the time of our visit which was out of bounds but when accessible along with the streams and waterfall / water birds should keep children entertained and learn about their surroundings in...
