My partner and her friends often go to Moosh for a late breakfast or lunch so she suggested to head there for a late breakfast. The menu looked great and the young lassie was over nice and quickly to take our order. We ordered a Chai Latte, an Iced Mocha, a Letâs Get Smashed (with extra Bacon +ÂŁ2.75) and a Smash on Hash (with extra bacon +ÂŁ2.75). The food arrived and it did look and taste great, although I asked the server (different lassie to who had served us earlier) if my order âSmash on Hashâ should only have one poached egg and a single piece of baconâŠ.the reply was a sharp âYesâ and she disappeared in the blink of an eye. I thought that as we were paying ÂŁ2.75 for additional bacon on each of the meals then I would have got the same 2 rashers that came with my partners âLetâs get smashedâ for the same priceâŠ..I guess not!! We were very quickly given the bill, not a question of was everything ok for you, or how did you enjoy the food, bill just dropped on the table without a word. The food quality was very good, however if charging ÂŁ2.75 each on 2 separate meals for additional bacon, at least make sure the additional portion is the same!! The service from the lassie who sat us and took our order to start was good, but the server after that was short and verging on rude when I asked a simple question about the food. We will likely come back to try the place again, but I feel the service level let down Moossh...
Read moreService is very poor. The price point is kind of a piss take. Tennents ÂŁ5.15 per pint and the cheapest beer they have. A tin of olives is ÂŁ5.50. Coffee was good value. I just think for the price point youâre not looked after well. Everyone is polite. But you gotta go out of your way to be served. Prices are mental. Very nice decor. Seems like good quality. But the price has something to answer for.
Several visits, Iâve heard people ask the waitress âis this a sharing portion or for one person?â. They werenât asking because they were that hungry, they were asking because the price suggests it should be.
Prices and service you get are not competitive for the area. Youâd honestly be cheaper hitting queens road, anywhere.
I wouldnât say avoid, but be ready for the bill and donât expect much service. Theyâll expect you to ask at the bar if you want anything else. They wonât check on you.
There are plenty of options that are better value and better service in the immediate area.
Update: I figured 3 times is a fairer assessment. Still expensive for no reason. And there are better options available technically. Appreciate the passive aggressive response too. Letâs see how long yall stay in business with this...
Read moreThe waitresses were very friendly and helpful however the manager left our experience on a disappointing note. I went to pay and mentioned that we were disappointed by the quality of the food and that we had to wait very long for a very basic meal (quesadillas) that lacked flavour. The waitress was very apologetic and went to see if she could request a 25% discount, which was very generous. However, we were then greeted by who I assume was the manager or owner who did grant the discount off the meal but then he went and argued that we hadnât been waiting long, which was inaccurate (especially because the place was pretty empty). I explained that the food quality was very poor for the price and wait time in my opinion, at which point he walked away. Not the kind of customer service I would expect from a manager. I will not be returning and would also recommend they turn the heating on because it was very cold inside.
Again the waitresses were lovely and had apologised and been very helpful, completely not...
