We did the Gainsborough trail that went along the valley trail (disused railway) and through a number of the common lands. Some areas far nicer than others but it general it is a nice area (particularly on a nice day!) There is areas for picnics, rivers to see the ducks and swans, lots of Cows grazing etc. We parked at the Kingfisher Leisure centre (which is free on a sunday). I'd suggest avoiding if heavy rainful as I can imagine it would get quite boggy / flooded in places!!

Beautiful place with wonderful nature very good place for a walk. The ground was filled with cows and river with swans I'll definitely come back again n again. Thank u for maintaining this beautiful place.

Beautiful common land, links onto the railway walk and if you head out toward the old pillbox you can get to Long Melford. Be warned it will flood as it gets into the wetter months.

It's a lovely place for dogwalkers, families etc to have a stroll. Can often see nice livestock, cows and sheep there too. There are turnstiles and it's often very muddy at those points so a robust pair of boots or Wellingtons is recommended if it hasn't been arrid weather. You can follow around onto Friar's Meadow and walk along the Stour up to Gt Cornard, which is a very nice walk, indeed, I believe an entire circuit is possible, following various tributaries of the Stour that...
