Poor customer service.

Family of four (two small children) in a queue behind another couple. Couple got seated at a four seater table despite three two seater tables being available in the immediate area.

Got looked up and down at as if there was some sort of problem, "oh, there's four of you?" Quick look over shoulder, "oh, probably a 15 minute wait".

I noticed a few seats in the lounge area and asked if we could sit there, which we could.

A group of five was next in the queue behind us. They were immediately seated at a six seater table which highlighted another six seater table next to them. My partner asked to be seated at the free table and we was told we could.

The lady was clearing the table and returned several times removing all the plates. We then waited another ten minutes but nobody came back. We had already decided what we wanted in this time and wanted to order using the app but we needed the table number so moved across to the vacant table.

As we was ordering our food, the manager came over and basically told us off as if we were naughty children saying that we should wait for the table to be wiped down before we are seated. Being the customer, we were fairly shocked at this and didn't know what to say. He then very abruptly said "well, do you want me to wipe the table down or not?" As if we should have already moved out of his way.

Overall, the staff at Prado Lounge displayed very poor managerial skills in terms of seating people at adequate tables. Were then very slow cleaning a table to the point where we thought they had finished and were then very rude to us after we had sat at the table in question complaining that it hadn't been cleaned as if it was some how our fault. Ultimately, the mistakes and tardiness of the seemingly inexperienced Prado Lounge staff resulted in my family and myself being criticised.

It's a shame as we have had good experiences here before. Generally the food is pretty good and comes out quickly which is what you want with two small children but this latest visit would make me think twice about...

In a lovely location on the river, this bar would be great in the summer given the plentiful outdoor seating. Unfortunately I visited in the winter for breakfast so had to hide away inside, with a cold draught every time the door opened! The interior decor is very different and quirky, setting the place apart from every other option in the town.

Once you arrive you’re free to find your own table and orders are made at the bar; there didn’t seem to be any option of table service if you’d prefer. The staff were friendly and fairly efficient at taking the orders although the hot drinks eventually had to be chased before they arrived, despite the promise of being brought tot he table. Food was served in good time and was a decent portion size, although still relatively expensive for the area. Everything was tasty though, well presented and enjoyable. The popularity of the place, even early in the morning, is telling of what ends up being served.

For something a little different in the area it’s a good choice and a memorable experience, especially if you visit when it’s not too busy and get the full attention of the staff. As somewhere for a smaller meal or brunch...

Being gluten free because of an intolerance Is not fun when eating out, But I take my Hat Off to "Prado Lounge"... .. you walk in the door and the shop fitters have done the place proud from the reclaimed gymnasium flooring to the decadent light fittings sandwiching a mishmash of art work paintings, prints and photos it all works the curator needs a tip of that metaphorical titfor'.. ..with your senses heighten by the plethora of Thrift Shop kitsch you are greeter by friendly helpfull staff who ask all the right questions as they guide you to your table amongst plentiful happy patrons. When seated you can peruse the menu then hop up and order at the bar or from the on line digital format by scanning the QR code on the table. The food is presented beautifully and tastes sublime, the whole experience was truly marvellous.

The only thing I would point out as a minus is the lux level in the W.C it was far to dingy this is a massive issue that would be easier fix by installing some brighter lamps what are they trying to hide in there and does the cleaner have to wear a head lamp to do their chores.

If this was rectified 5stars would be...

We waited over an hour for our food. You have to order at the bar and there was a queue of fifteen people. We had to wait over 30 mins to order! The staff admitted they were understaffed. They looked very stressed out! We then had to wait a further 20 minutes for our coffees to arrive. The food was cold and the children's 'chicken lollipops' only had two tiny pieces of chicken. The staff don't wear uniform- which isn't a problem, but one of the male staff members had very ripped jeans on that were hanging below his bottom! It may be the fashion, but not really appropriate for work.

Absolutely amazing experience today! The food was good, the prices very reasonable but the service was utterly outstanding. Thea welcomed myself and my toddler, was very accomodating of allergies and went out of her way to help us to the table I requested, including helping me lift the buggy. She made sure my hungry toddler was served almost immediately and was so kind and thoughtful that the whole experience was stress free and I felt very well looked after. I will be definitely going back next time I'm in Sudbury and I hope that Thea is working then too!

This was a good central place for me to meet my great Aunt for food in Sudbury. They have lots on the menu and also have a complete Vegan menu too which is great. You order your drinks and food at the bar. Its a large sprawling lounge with different levels and has a mix of age groups. We all ordered breakfasts, I had a veggy one which was really tasty it was nice to have a veggy breakfast with some differences to it. My Aunt also enjoyed a large Prado Sundae, its one of those places which is large, accessible, comfortable and reasonably priced.
