The atmosphere is lovely, you enjoy sitting down and enjoying your food. The staff is lovely and the service is spotless however the portions are too small for what you pay! The food does not come with salad but only with some onion salad when asked to replace it you get charged £5+ the service charge is added on top as standard like most other Turkish places I find it unethical when you considering take away price and eat in price is already upto %50 different from one another (eat in being more expensive of course and this is not specific to this shop it’s a general thing for most shops ranges between %30-%50) so why the service charge? But this is not specific to Alaz and I can not be harsh on them for following others. Providing they increase their portion size and maybe offer better white rice?(!) I would go back. This review by no means to stop anyone visiting the place this is just my own opinion and you should try it for yourself. My bill with soft drink and ribs was just over £30

Had booked online - easy enough to do. We decided to sit outside as the weather was nice enough. Ordered our drinks quickly, but these took a while to arrive. Selected a few mains and starters to share - and this is where everything falls down. The waiters only came out with half of what we ordered as there had been a "mix up" with the kitchen so we were going to have to wait for our food. The portion sizes of the food was quite small given the price - very disappointing. It was tasty but I was hungry for more. The only exception to this was the muscles starter (but this was a dish that came out second after the "mix up" so not sure if that was trying to compensate for the errors) The staff was apologetic but offered no compensation for the mistakes - we asked for a round of beers and was given a single beer. I would recommend the OTHER Turkish restaurant in town...

Wow. Loved it. Went a second time, some time after my first visit. The food was just as fabulous and delicious. Very impressed. Everything was well presented and tasty, with good portions and tailored for the numbers, all for a reasonable cost. Staff were polite and well timed. The restaurant has a good atmosphere, with nice lighting and good spacing between tables. It's an old building so watch the steps. Everywhere was clean, including the toilets. There's a reasonable sized parking area around the back and covered seating (with heaters) out the front. It's all one could ask for. Definitely going back again for a special occasion.

Recently dined here for my fiancé’s birthday and unfortunately, we were really disappointed. I don’t usually leave Google reviews, but this experience was worth highlighting. The food is extremely overpriced for what you get.

When the specials menu was explained, it was just listed off the top of someone’s head—no printed version, and it was hard to remember what was even available. I ended up ordering the prawn special. When I double-checked if it came with fries (as I thought I’d heard the waiter mention), the owner replied, “Well, it certainly can come with fries,” which made it sound like she wasn’t sure herself. She said she’d check but never came back with an answer.

The starter arrived and it was tiny—£9 for something that looked like a small side dish. I ordered a bottle of Kopparberg, which cost around £5.80 and I’d already finished it before the starter even hit the table. The service was slow and the atmosphere felt flat and bleak.

When it came time to pay, I noticed they’d added a 10% service charge automatically. For 1 starter and 2 mains (prawns in garlic butter, fries, and a bit of bread), the total came to £70. I honestly have no idea how they’re justifying that price.

I wouldn’t mind paying that if the experience or food reflected the cost—but sadly, it just didn’t. The place has really gone downhill. Would not recommend unless you’re happy to be overcharged for a...

I absolutely adore this place.

Putting the most important part first... the FOOD my GOODNESS, the delicious food !! All of it, superb. Mezes (cold and hot) not to be passed by - all the classics like hummus and pasha but then lots of unusual ones that you don't see everywhere (cig Bulgar, cauliflower one).

Don't miss garlic butter Prawns, or the sausage, or the Squid.. honestly just get one of everything.

I've only lived in Sudbury for 1.5 years. There are still a ton of restaurants I haven't even tried... but I've been here 7 times.

Really cool building, lots of little side cubbies and corners with tables tucked away. Super cozy. Staff are extremely attentive and polite whilst still maintaining their personalities! (Good sense of humour from all of them, and they all seem to stay there - meaning it must be a decent business to work for).

Decently priced, lovely couple who own it (wife on front of house, lovely person).

Great for dates, celebrations, mate dates, quick dinner dash before cinema or party.

LOVE IT. Don't...
