Unacceptable Experience - Dog Owner Aggression

I'm writing this review to warn others about a disturbing incident that occurred at Antrim Castle Gardens at 06 April at 8am with my 10-year-old autistic son. We visited the area, and my son, who has a fear of dogs, became distressed when a dog approached him off-leash.

As my son screamed and I tried to comfort him, holding him close to keep him safe, the dog owner pushed me to the ground. This was unacceptable and traumatic for both my son and me.

Be aware of off-leash dogs in the area. If you have children or pets with fears, exercise extreme caution. Consider reporting incidents to the establishment or local authorities.

I hope this review prompts Antrim Castle Gardens and Antrim council to take steps to ensure visitor safety, particularly for those with disabilities or fears.

My rating reflects the unacceptable behavior of the dog owner and the lack of support from the...

What a terrific facility! I love this park. There is something to entertain every family member. The clockwork Platinum Jubilee garden is a real gem particularly in summer. I have seen the movement on the hour. There are gardens, lakes, a mound to walk up, mementoes of the original castle, grassy areas, beautiful trees and pleasant flat walks. You can buy coffee/lunch in the tearoom and sit outside or inside. Across the river there is a riverside walk where we have always seen herons. There is outdoor gym equipment and as you approach the shores of Lough Neagh a brilliant play park. There are covered picnic tables, swans and ducks, and on fine days water sports to observe. There are eating facilities here too and clean toilets. The entire park area is extremely...

Have been going here for nearly ten years and the place never disappoints. The best part about it is the nice and clean path asking the gardens. One can walk around at their place and not worry about sterling into muck and dirt. Plenty of runners and cyclists enjoy the rounds on early mornings. The view of the river from the bridge is lovely and one can easily spend twenty minutes just looking at the view and list in their thoughts. Other facilities include a nice little cafe, electric vehicle charging points, nice and clean toilets. An ideal place for an...

Lovely place for a walk, whether it's long, short or in-between. Lots of different paths to wander along and little quirky things to see along the way. The bridge across the river takes you to a path leading to the Lough. Back in the courtyard of the gardens there is a small visitors shop and a cafe. The whole place is extremely dog friendly. Large open green which is great for kids to run and play games. There are a few picnic tables and a number of benches throughout the gardens.

Well worth a visit! Loved the food, only thing I would say is cover the food from the floor side, way too many people passing and close up to your food/hot dishes it needs to be closed it. We still ate the hot sandwiches from the kitchen thou!! 100%. Staff throughout were soo professional, informative and keep up the great gardening and cleanliness
