Breakout Escape Experience | Belfast — Attraction in Belfast

This week, myself and my partner tried to break out of the ‘Upside Down’ escape room. The room itself was incredibly immersive and had nods to the show itself which brought the room to life. The concept of the room was great initially, working together from different rooms and having to communicate to complete puzzles. However, once we begun themed music began to play which made it hard to hear my partner. We had to ask twice for this to be turned down before we could hear one another. The hint system worked great, allowing for independence when completing tasks and kept the ambiance of the room. However, we struggled on the first task for 25 minutes before we had assistance from the game master. We called numerous times to no avail and struggled needlessly for 25 minutes before we could continue with the rest of the room. When the game master did answer, he became frustrated with my partner who struggled to hear him saying “you don’t listen” and “please hurry up”. Apart from this, all staff were very lovely and made the experience great. Overall, it was a very immersive room with a great atmosphere. Very welcoming and entertaining! Terrible experience. Our friend accidentally pressed the panic button and we got kick out of the room and not allowed to continue.

The panic button was one of three blue buttons very close to each other. The one beside it was for tips. There was no with no clear indications on the buttons which was which.

£75 wasted.

*The young girl that.welcomed us was very nice and did explain at the start not to press that button unless in an emergency. So no blame can be put on her.

The manager who we spoke to was.very unaccomadating and just passed it off saying in in the T&Cs and that we.cant have a refund or restart the game

Also compared to other games in the town this was the least interactive. No human involvement at all.

We did the Upside Down escape room today, we were a little disappointed.. the sound effects were ridiculously loud and there wasn’t any kind of flow or connection to each task. We were left waiting for an answer from the games master a few times and I’m not sure they were even sure what point we were at as it seemed their hint skipped a few stages.. We’ve done maybe 10-12 escape rooms previously and this was the only one that didn’t show us where we went wrong at the end or how to actually escape. We were just told to leave the room.. overall we just didn’t find it as enjoyable as other...
