Visited for The Hundred recently,Birmingham Phoenix v Trent Rockets and had a fantastic evening at Edgbaston and would recommend the ground to any cricket fan. The stadium is situated in the south suburbs of the city and is a straightforward 30 minute walk from Birmingham New Street Railway Station. I was slightly confused that i couldnt access the large club shop on the outside of the impressive blue clad South Stand but friendly ticket office staff informed me if i entered at E4-5 (my seat was actually on the other side of the ground) and turn right in the concourse i could access the club shop inside the ground. Scanning of the e-ticket and bag was quick and easy and,as i was entering the ground in the last few balls of the Womens game, getting into the club shop and purchasing items was also easy, with a great selection of T100,T20,and Warwickshire CCC items to chose from. Walked round the outside of the West,Raglan & Family Stands to access the north side of the ground where my seat was,in the Stanley Barnes Stand. As it was such a hot early evening i was glad for the water dispersers and though the concourses are mostly open (except the South Stand) there was plenty of space for food & drink huts around the boundary walls which still left a good amount of room for people to move around and get to their seated areas. With a majority of the ground bieng open seating a fully unobstructed view of the pitch was on offer however i would point out the Upper Tier of the Eric Hollies Stand does contain a number of slim supporting roof angles and a row of more substantial columns near the rear which will likely cause a big obstruction of the field of play. Having said that, the modern 3D online ticket purchase system should also show up these columns so you know in advance what view you will have. Photos enclosed from my visit.

Attended the Birmingham Bears Vs Notts Outlaws T20 match. Fairly straightforward entry process with scanned tickets presented on entry. Plenty of hand sanitizer stations available in the open areas and concourses. The food and beverage outlets had one way queuing systems in operation with contactless payment terminals. Good choice in food provisions but with a large uplift in prices compared to normal take aways. The Seats and rows were unreserved for each specific stand with people tending to sit in rows with gaps between people in front and back. The retail outlet was not too busy and had plenty of choices if not a little on the expensive side. Within the general areas of the stadium mask wearing was not particularly enforced and it was disappointing to see some large groups of drunk people with little social distancing taking place. The stewards appear to be g4s (marked down for that!) who in large parts appeared to walk round in groups with hardly any social distancing and mask wearing appeared inconsistent. The egress was relatively straight forward as we left early. Nice to see live cricket.

A great 'viewing' stadium for cricket, with good links to the city centre and local hidden gems. Food/drink is standard fare for a sports venue, but bars/choice is varied and of a higher quality than nearby football grounds (for comparison). Service time is also much, much quicker. Edgbaston benefits from a completely redeveloped end, coupled to more 'traditional' seating arrangements. There are few bad seats in the house, though there can be temporary seating constructed for big internationals that are generally worth avoiding. Shuttle buses generally run to and from the city centre from the ground, but cabs and Uber are generally easy to get if breaking free from the crowds after a game - don't bother trying to get a cab otherwise. Moseley Village is a 10 minute walk from the ground and offers plenty of bars and restaurants worth making the effort for - easily missed if you head straight back into the city centre after the game - Moseley is definitely a worthwhile diversion after any game. I've took in internationals & 20/20 formats at Edgbaston - would return without hesitation.

A great place to watch cricket, in this instance the England vs India Test. I was in a quieter stand and seating was comfortable for a full days cricket, with adequate leg room. If you want more audience entertainment then maybe the stand with the barmy army, but I could see their antics well enough from where I sat and could enjoy more peace if I wanted to. Big screens helped with replays of key moments. Lots of concessions to buy food and drink, but expect to empty your pockets rather if you do as they aren’t cheap. There is nothing to stop you taking a packed lunch and water, however. The toilets were plentiful, but not too clean and, frankly, in a pretty poor state by the end of the day given the volume of recycled beer that they had to deal with. The ground is well organised and although there were queues on entry they moved quickly. Public transport is your best bet for getting there as the roads can be busy and parking limited on match days. Only half an hour walk from New Street Station and there are shuttle buses on match days.

Was up on Skyline and was really disappointed for the cost. Whilst all the staff were lovely, when it rained, there were very limited places to keep dry and being disabled, I couldn't stand for long so ended up perched on the very edge of a seat. As it was so wet and windy, most people were cold and soaked but there were nothing like patio heaters to warm up a little. Had been asked about allergies prior to going, apparently so the chefs could sort a menu in advance, but there was hardly anything I could eat and a helpful guy ended up getting me some food that had been laid on for the press, but that was really disappointing. Disabled loo didn't have a hook or a surface for you to put a bag down so had to put it on the floor. Floor in the whole area was soaked and terrifying to walk on, seats and tables were not wiped down, so just left wet through, just really wasn't what I expected for the price paid. Your staff were your saving grace, otherwise would have definitely been 1 star.

We went for a Cricket match between India Pakistan. The queues were quite long but moved quickly. The people with the ticket scanners, bag searches and the body scanners very friendly and very polite. There were people on hand to show us where our seats were. Loved the day. Thank you to Edgbaston staff and volunteers for making it special. Very busy access to the ground ran smoothly even with the inevitable bag checks. There are numerous opportunities to buy food and drink to suit everyone’s needs and fear not there’s no chance of supplies running out! Our seats were in row C of the Stanley Barnes section from where we had a fantastic view. There was plenty of legroom, unrestricted view and easy access. We had a large scoreboard behind to one side and large screen to the other where we could watch action replays and see the DRS reviews.
